Daedalus, a famous architect in Athens, becomes jealous of his nephew Talos and throws him down from the Acropolis. Daedalus is exiled to Crete where he marries Naucrate and they have a son named Icarus. Daedalus and Icarus escape from the Labyrinth using wings made of feathers and wax. However, Icarus flies too close to the sun and his wings melt, causing him to fall into the sea and drown.
