  The Desert of Mermaids

  The story is about the Tohono O’odham tribe, also known as the Papagos, who lived in peace on an island above the sea. A curious tribe member, Oslac, disobeys the chief's rule and explores the sea, where he meets and falls in love with a mermaid named Helmi. When discovered, their world changes drastically.
