This book is dedicated to our amazing Social Studies teacher Mr. Polvere

The daily life of a Roman often began with a small breakfast. Bread, water, and wine were eaten and drunk at home. Meat and fruit were sometimes eaten, but not every day. It was also possible to buy a wheat pancake on the way to work or school.

School often had only one room. Teachers were very strict, and education was taken very seriously. Subjects such as math were hard because they used Roman Numerals which only contained 6 Roman letters.
While mothers and daughters were doing household chores, men went to work and boys attended school. Jobs you would see people doing are farming, baking, and building. Many other people joined the military to provide money for their families.

After a day of school and work, men and boys went to a bathhouse. Here, people gathered to wash and talk among other friends. These bathhouses included libraries and gardens for other activities.

After spending time in the baths, Romans would eat a meal in the middle of lunch and dinner time. The meal usually consisted of porridge. In addition, people would eat salads, eggs, meat, seafood, fruit, and honey-sweetened cakes.
