Hello! I am Threads the Owl. Join me on a journey through ancient Rome

Long ago, Rome was founded by twin brothers Romulus and Remus. Romulus became the first king after a big fight with his brother. As I fly over the city, I imagine where the brothers once stood, starting what would become a great empire.
Below me is the Roman Forum, the centre of ancient Rome. People came here to shop, talk about politics, and watch gladiator fights. The forum was always busy and full of life. I can almost hear the sounds of people buying and selling, arguing about politics, and cheering for gladiators.

Rome was famous for its aqueducts. These structures brought fresh water into the city from miles away. I follow the path of the aqueducts, thinking about the clean water they brought to the people of Rome.
All roads lead to Rome, they say. The Romans built roads that connected their huge empire. As I fly over these ancient roads, I see how they once connected the city to faraway places, making travel and trade easier.

As night falls, I return to my tree. The city is quiet now, with its old stories resting under the stars. I've shown you a bit of Rome's amazing past. Come back soon, and we'll discover more stories from history. For now, goodbye from ancient Rome.
