7 Easy Steps 

for using 

StoryJumper

to create a 

Story Book

Step 1

Your story needs characters. Think about 

who and what your story is about, and 

what you want your characters to do.  

Characters can be people, spirits, animals, 

monsters, just about anything you can 

think of.   Remember - characters should be 

exciting and creative! 

Step 2

Your story needs a problem or challenge that 

your characters can solve or overcome.   The 

challenge or problem should be interesting and 

extraordinary rather than just an everyday 

event.   Your readers will be captivated by 

challenges that create tension and excitement.

Step 3

Your characters need motivation to take on 

the challenge or problem of the story.  

Think about why your characters must 

confront the challenge and what your 

characters hopes to accomplish.   Also think 

about how your characters need to proceed 

to overcome the challenge.   Having your 

characters act against their "nature" 

creates great tension and will hold your 

readers interest.
