Once upon a time, there was a fluffy, white dog named Eva who wanted a treat. She didn't know how to get a treat so she tried a few different things.

First, Eva tried to beg for a treat at the kitchen table. The dog's owner, Molly, said, "No, no Eva!" Eva did not get a treat, and thought of another way to get one.

Later, Eva and Molly were walking down the street. Eva saw a delicious looking pretzel for sale and barked loudly. Molly said, "No Eva, you cannot have a pretzel." Eva did not get a treat. She wondered what she could do differently so that she could get a treat.

Molly was buying cupcakes at the store. Eva thought, "I did not get a treat when I begged. I did not get a treat when I barked. Maybe I will just sit and wait for Molly to finish buying cupcakes. Maybe then I will get a treat." Molly finished buying cupcakes at the store. She said, "Good girl, Eva! You didn't bark or beg. Here is a treat!" From then on, Eva learned that if she is patient, she will earn her treat.
