"Wake up Mia! We're almost there!"
"Huh?" I opened my eyes to see Joan smiling happily.
I looked out the window of the airplane. Below us were rolling dunes of sand. In the distance I could see Mount Koussi, the tallest mountain in the Sahara.
"It's beautiful!" I sighed.

Let me give you a little background information. My name is Mia Fletcher. I am an archeologist. That's a scientist who studies history by digging up artifacts and other physical remains. For the past ten years I have been teaching and researching at Iowa State University.
Recently my colleague Joan and I were approached by a wealthy business man, Mr. Robinson. He's obsessed with finding a treasure he believes is buried somewhere in the Sahara.
Our plane landed in Cairo, Egypt just after10:00 p.m. Joan and I then traveled by camel to our final destination, The Great Pyramids of Giza. These pyramids are located just outside of the bustling city of Cairo.
As we approached the pyramids I was in awe. "I've never seen anything so beautiful." I sighed.
"Look, there's the Nile River!" Joan exclaimed.

As we entered the first pyramid I suddenly heard a hissing sound.
"Don't move a muscle." Joan whispered nervously.
I looked down and saw what was making the noise.
"It's a cerastes cerastes." Joan said.
"A what??" I asked.
"A poisonous viper!!"
As I backed away slowly I bumped into a stone block sticking out of the wall.
Suddenly the wall started moving.
"Look! It's a secret passage way!"
