
EPILEPSY: is a brain condition that can cause a child to have a seizure. It is the most common disorders of the nervous system. It can affect a child with febrile seizures and as a an adult. The brain will consist of nerve cells that communicate with each other through electrical activity.
TYPES OF CHILDHOOD SEIZURES
Febrile seizures, infantile spasms
Myoclonic seizures
Generalized tonic - clonic seizures
Atonic seizures, absence seizures

Febrile Seizures are sometimes caused by high fevers due to teething and ear infections.


Adult triggers can be due to a lack of sleep.
Along with alcohol, flashing lights and stress.
In addition, when not taking medications.
Some of the warning signs consist of:
Staring, jerking movements of the arms and legs.
Stiffening of the body and a loss of consciousness.
People with Epilepsy may experience breathing problems and a loss of bladder control.


Along wit suddenly falling. A fall maybe associated with a loss of consciousness.
Low blood sugar levels and stimulants such as tea, caffeine and chocolate may contribute to possible seizures in children and adults.



Things to look for in a seizure:
Temporary confusion, staring, jerking.
A loss of consciousness and awareness.
Cognitive, emotional symptoms, fear & anxiety.
