1st Graders Love  Books

Did you know that 1st graders love books? They love reading books in their cars. They love reading books at the park. They love reading books at the museum.  They love reading books at school, even when the teacher is talking!

Do you know why they love reading books? Because books are so cool. In books, you can see things that you don't see everyday. 

But 1st graders HATE spelling tests. They hate spelling tests about short o. They hate spelling tests about the h brothers. 

They especially hate spelling tests about blends!! 

Whatever you do, don't give 1st graders a spelling test.

It was going to be a special day in Ms. Ammons' 1st grade class. It was Book Fair Day and Ms. Ammon's class was happy because 1st graders love books.

There were books all over. Books about pigeons driving a bus. Books about Dogman. Chapter books, scary books, funny books and books about apples.

The 1st graders from Ms. Ammons' class came in to the Book Fair. Ms. Serna was there smiling. The kids were as happy as the sun. The 1st graders were all looking at the books, getting  cozy and starting to read their books. Because 1st graders love books. 

All of a sudden, Ms. Ammons looked at her watch. She said, "Oh my goodness! Oh my gracious! We have a spelling test today!" 

"OK class, we're going to do our test here. Get out your paper and pencils."
