Once upon a time, there lived a mermaid named Coral, but everybody just called her Cora. She has always dreamed of going up to the surface. But she was too little, her little fins wouldn't make it up all the way to the surface. So she wanted to wait until she was big enough to reach the very tippy top. 

A few years later Cora was still dreaming of what it would look like on the surface. She could never stop thinking about it. Then Maris said to her mom, "Can I have five sand dollars?" "Why do you need them?" said Cora's mom. "Me and my friends are going to the sand dollar store," said Cora.

"Okay, but be back at 10:30," said Cora's mom. "Okay, I will," said Cora. Then she left. When Cora arrived at the sand dollar store she saw all her friends waiting for her. Then one of them said, "Okay now let's go see the third mermaid horror movie."

But Cora wasn't allowed to watch the mermaid horror movies, but she did anyway. Once they arrived at the mer theaters they went inside, paid for their tickets, then went inside to see the third mermaid horror. Cora was a little frightened, but that didn't...

stop her from watching it. Once the movie was over Cora still had a little more time, so she went far away from the city to go up to the surface. Cora was a long way from home but she still went up to the surface. She started swimming up to the suface.

Then she finally did it she saw up above, and it was so beautiful. Cora just had to have a better look, so she got closer to land. Then got on a small rock, and got a way better view of the surface. Then she heard a person coming so Cora dived down into the water.
