Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners. Mankind was sinking then, as now, into a world of hopelessness.

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

Jesus Christ healed the sick, the halt, the maimed, and the blind! There are at least 35 amazing miracles he performed while, on earth, as described in the King James Bible. 

He raised the dead three times. He proved his deity by his resurrection three days after his death on the cross!

In the book of John Chapters 18 & 19 we find the trial of Jesus before Pontius Pilot. Pilot realizes that this is no ordinary criminal before him.  He tries to get out of the catch 22 the Jews have caught him in.

He knows the charges against  Jesus are false! He offers the fomenting crowd a noted criminal to take Jesus' place, to no avail! To escape his dilemma he attempts to clear himself of the cowardly crime, by washing his hands in a symbolic gesture of his own innocence.

He sentences Jesus to die on the cross.

Pontius Pilot's catch 22 has a similar bearing facing each of us! Pilot chooses a cowardly political way to escape!  It is said that a few years later Pilot committed suicide. Surely a guilty conscience must have haunted him all his days! Rejection of Christ has severe results! 

JESUS' QUESTION TO ALL OF US:

Asking, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. Matthew 22:42. 

This question Jesus asked the Pharisees.  They only got it right partially. They failed to recognize him as the son of God.
