It's 1962, and Billy Cramer is celebrating his 13th birthday. His family is all gathered around the large dining table. Billy's mom Joan, and dad Tom, and three sisters, Mary Elisabeth, Jenny Jo, and Lisa May. 

"Make a wish Billy!," urges his sisters with a voice of excitement!

"Take a deep breath Billy and let er...rip son!" Urges Billy's dad. Billy's mom is smiling broadly. She feels so blessed to have such a good boy like Billy for her

son! Of course, her girls are just as wonderful too, but today the spotlight is on Billy!

Fooish.........and quickly  Billy blows out all 13 candles in one big breath!

"Great job son!" says Billy's dad, patting him on the back.

"Oh boy, can we eat cake now, blurts out

 6-year-old Lisa May.

Mom cuts everyone a healthy slice of birthday cake.

Billy glances out the window and sees a neighbor kid sitting on the curb crying. "Hold on mom, I see Jacob outside in tears!" Billy wraps his slice of cake in foil and hurries outside.

"What's wrong Jacob, why are you so upset?"

Billy takes a seat beside Jacob and puts his arm around him.

"It's my dad Billy! He's had a heart attack. Mom says it's very serious! I don't want him to die!"

Billy was saved at a Christian camp when he

was 10. Since that time he has wanted to help others and to share the word of God with them. His goal is to be an evangelist and study to be a doctor.  

"See Jacob, the word of God says to 'cast all your care upon him, because he cares for you!"

"Thank you, Billy! I will trust Him.

Thank you for the cake too!"

We fast forward 12 years later. Billy finishes his university education and medical training and receives his doctorate degree.  He joins a group of doctors specializing in heart surgery. Billy's compassionate winsome attitude and expert surgery skills make him highly respected among his peers and patients.

Dr. Billy Cramer is not only successful in his career as a doctor, but he is also an ordaind minister of the gospel. One of Billy's favorite places to preach and minister is the down town mission. He sees firsthand the toll alcohol and drug addiction takes on poor souls who get caught up in its ugly tentacles.
