Part one: What instructional models or strategies, specifically from the reading and viewing, seem effective to you? Why?

1.1: Culturally Responsive Teaching: What is it and how to address it in your teaching methods.

Before you can teach in a culturally responsive (CRT) way, one must learn what it truly means to be a culturally responsive teacher. Here are the steps to address bias:

1. Take Harvard University's Project Implicit survey to learn about your own areas of implicit bias.
2. Audit the curriculum. Is it culturally responsive? Are the sources of information coming from a single point of view, (typically old white men), or from a diverse set of points of view?
3. Turn textbooks into diverse learning tools that students can engage with.

Funds of Knowledge: The best way to connect with your students.
