Nayah was looking at the stars with her father and a question popped into her head, “ Dad, where do the stars go to hide during the day?”
“Well that’s a big question” her dad replied. “ How about we look it up tomorrow after we get home?” She whined out, “Why not now?”
“Because it’s bed time!”

On the bus ride the next day Nayah asks her seat buddy, “Julie where do the stars go to hide during the day?” Julie blinks and looks around before saying, “I don’t know Nayah maybe our teacher knows.”

During class when the teacher asks if there are any questions Nayah raises her hand and asks, “Ms. Lucus where do the stars go to hide during the day?” Her teacher looks confused before saying, “ Nayah stars don’t hide, now listen to the book please.”

Once home from school Nayah feeling discouraged that she hadn’t found her answer asked her mom who was fixing her snack, “Mama where do stars go to hide during the day?”. Her mama paused before saying, “I’m not sure Nayah, maybe we can look it up later?” Nayah sighed, “Yeah dad said we’d look it up when he gets home.” Her mom smiled, “Well then we don’t have too long to wait.”

Once her dad got home later that night she hopped up only to be stopped by her mom, “Let him change out of his work clothes first Nayah the stars just came out”.
So she waited in the living room with her mom until she her him call, “Nayah, can you come here?” And she was running to his office where he had a video pulled up on his computer.

She sat in his big chair as he started the video of the The Planet Earth spinning around the Sun and her father began to speak, “Our sun is actually a star just very close up to us.” He said pointing to the sun. “As we turn away to face away from the Sun we see the stars in the dark night sky”.

He pointed to the side of Earth light up by the suns rays, “When we turn back every morning our Sun shines brighter than all the stars in the sky and it’s all we can see.”. Her mom walks in saying, “Wow that’s amazing” and Nayah responds with a grin, “Yeah it is”.
