This story is dedicated to my two cats,
Belle and Pepper

One evening, in the Scratching Palace, the queen cat named Belle was on full alert, because one of her spies had spotted a suspicious camp outside of their kingdom. Usually, if any of her citizens wanted to go camping, one, they would have to ask permission from her and two, they wouldn't be camping outside unless it’s Belle's army getting ready for a battle that she would know.
“Is anything new out there?” Belle asked her bodyguard, Pepper.
“Yes, there are some suspicious hamsters guarding their tent.” Pepper reported.
“We might have to go battle them before any bad thing happens, or we could wait till they come, which isn’t a very good plan.” Belle said.
“I think we should change up the orders in our palace, so if the hamsters do come in, then our citizens will be ready and won’t get hurt. Also, we don’t have to carry all the heavy weapons to the battle field if it’s not anything to worry about.” Pepper suggested.
“That is a great idea Pepper! I knew I could always count on you for war and battle planning.” Belle said.
“Now, Let's set up some new orders.” Belle and Pepper said together.
BEEP! All of the electronics that were turned on changed to a different channel or app. “There are intruders right next to our kingdom,” Belle said, “We must be very careful now. There are some suspicious looking hamsters. Please stay inside of your houses. If you have to talk to me, please text that you are going to come over before you get out of your house to come over. Also if you see someone suspicious bring them to me.”
After the new announcement, a lot of the citizens in Belle's kingdom started talking about rumors that they had heard. Tension filled the air as everyone anxiously awaited the looming future.
The night had come and Belle got ready to go to sleep. “Night Pepper.” Belle yawned.
“You too.” Pepper replied.
Exhausted from events of the day, Belle quickly fell asleep.
Around midnight, disaster struck. Bang! Clash! Bang! Belle jumped, awake with full alert.

“Did you hear that?” Belle asked Pepper.
“Of course I did.” Pepper said.
They rushed to Belle's highest pavilion where they were able to see everything in the kingdom. Belle and Pepper looked down to the entrance of Belle's palace. Pepper gasped. Down by the entrance, a group of hamsters had surrounded Belle's guards. The outnumbered guards were struggling to hold off the hamsters.
“We have to help them!” Pepper cried out.
"I know, I know. I got it." Belle replied.

Belle nodded her head. Then she turned around facing fifty guards.
“You guys,” Belle said pointing to thirty of the guards, “help those other guards down there fight off the hamsters.”
“Yes your majesty.” answered the guards in unison.
“What do we do?” asked the other guards still with her.
“Half of you will go grab more weapons to fight back. You five, will go load the cannons just in case, while you other five, will go around the kingdom to make sure the hamsters don’t hurt anyone, or take anyone as prisoner.” Belle ordered.
“Yes, your majesty.” The guards said and took off.
“Hehehe, I can’t believe you told the guard to say that after you order them something.” Pepper jokes.
“Now is not the time to joke around.” Belle said firmly.
“I know, I know, wasn’t I the one who told you how to keep our— I mean your kingdom safe.” Pepper said.
Belle knew that was true, but she didn’t want to admit it- that Pepper was the smart one with all the plan. This was also one of the reasons why the hoomans that had adopted them loved Pepper more than her. Belle wished the hoomans had also adopted her Mom and sister, Rosey. But, their Mom refused to go in the carrier and Rosey had to stay with her mom because she wasn’t old enough to be away from Mom yet.
Belle missed them so much —
“Come on Belle,” Pepper said, interrupting her thoughts, “let's go down there to help them out.”
“Okay.” Belle replied.
They both ran downstairs to help get the hamsters out of their kingdom. But, by the time they got there, the guards had managed to throw the hamster out of the kingdom.
Seconds later, the guards that Belle had sent to see if anyone got captured or hurt came back with worried faces. “Your majesty,” The guard in the front said, she hesitated for a moment or two, finally she said, “Your long lost sister, Rosey that you found in the forest . . .

got captured from the hamsters.” Belle and Pepper gasp.
“Did anyone else get captured?” Belle demanded.
“Yes,” she said, “your mom, and her new litter of kittens.”
“Even Tip?” Pepper asked, horrified.
“Even Tip. Also that kitten that looks like she has an eye infection.” She replied.
“Oh no, Opal too? That's bad. In this condition, if she's in that cage for more than a day, the infection will get worse 'cause I heard that those evil hamsters keep their prisoners in dark caves and make them starve to death.” Belle said.
Then out of nowhere, a spy came running towards them, almost out of breath.
“Your majesty,” she said, catching her breath, “I looked through the binoculars and I saw that the hamsters were able to get to their campsite safely.”
“Then, we better hurry over there.” Pepper growled.
“Shouldn't we wait for the weapons to come?” Belle suggested.
“No, that's a bad idea,” Pepper answered, “by the time the weapons come, the hamsters will be back on their feet, ready to charge back into our kingdom.”
“Ohh, I get it.” Belle said.
Soon, Belle, Pepper, and thirty guards were running across the kingdom to the gate. When they got there, the hamster looked ready to charge into battle.
“Now, I really see by what you mean,” Belle whispered, “if we waited or hesitated longer, they would have come back into our kingdom.”
“Bring in the cages,” said the general hamster.
Ten hamsters came in, rolling a thing that held cages and inside of the cages were Rosey, their Mom, and the new litter of kittens.
“We have to get them back.” Belle cried.
“Okay, so here’s the plan,” Pepper began, “you distract and fight the hamster, while I go and rescue them. I’ll help fight, but my priority is to rescue them. Your priority is to distract and fight the hamster off.”
“Got it.” Belle answered.
Then they were off in the battle field. The guards that had come with them battled the hamsters soldiers. Belle was getting ready to fight with their leader. “Bring it on.” The hamster's leader said.
They moved in a circle. Suddenly, Belle launched herself to the leader, with her claws outstretched.
“Eek!” the hamster cried out.
He ducked and rolled out of the way before Belle sliced at him.
“Grrr. Why do you hamsters have to be small and can dodge so well?” Belle growled in frustration.
“That's right. We’re all mighty and powerful—Eek!"
Belle came charging in, body-slamming into the hamster.
“Get off of me!” The hamster screamed.
“Nope. Not this time mister.” Belle replied. “I’ll get my payback soon!” The hamster angrily yelled.
“Why can’t you do it now?” Belle said, stepping off of him.
Belle took a quick look at Pepper and gave him a wink.
Pepper saw Belle’s wink and nodded. He slipped through the battle and came over to the cages. Nobody saw him 'cause they were all busy battling. He took a quick look at the battle as it raged on. Belle was slashing and biting as the hamster kept on ducking and rolling. Then, he looked over his shoulder to his fellow teammates and saw them pouncing with their claws outstretched.
