
Word Wall Strategy

The word wall teaching strategy is a wall space in the classroom created to display important words or pictures of a newly learned topic. A great reference to look back on specific terms or their meanings.
Description:
One of the units in Physical Educations focus was over common soccer terms. The word wall contains words like goal, kick, pass, cross, midfielder, defender, or forward with descriptions and pictures. The teacher reminds the class to familiarize themself with the terms for the unit.
Example:
Role Play Strategy

Description:
The role play teaching strategy is a form of displayed learning. Student(s) take an assigned role and acts it out as the specific representation.
Example:
The PE class is discussing rules and regulations of kind safe play with one another. The teacher formed pairs and groups to role play different examples of what is expected and what is not acceptable play.
Jigsaw Strategy

Description:
A group of students become experts on a specific topic or knowledge. Then are required to share that learnt information and material to another group of students.
Example:
The students are entering a volleyball unit on specific passes or hits. The teacher splits the class into groups to learn a pass or hit technique in volleyball. Next they form teams with each student knowing a different technique and teach their teams.
Cubing Strategy


Description:
The cube is designed to form a students thought on a specific topic or idea at random. As the cube contains six commands, each side face prompts a different task the student should do.
Example:
Each Physical Education class has warm ups before they start their unit activity for the class. The teacher will sometimes use the cubing technique to choose their warm ups for the day. So as it rolls it will land on either push ups, stretches, jumping jacks, sit-ups, lunges, or high knees.
Exit Ticket Strategy

Description:
End of the class period required leaving activity to show the teacher what you have learned and fully understand. For the student it refreshes and focuses their mind over a skill/concept at the end of a lesson or unit.
