I dedicate this book to my fourth grade class and my teacher, Mrs. Williams, who taught me to write stories, and to my mom who proof read this for me.

It was a stormy night in Greenville, and everyone was sound asleep in their homes. Well, not exactly everyone.
Something else was still awake. Not a person, not a thing, a goblin. And that goblin's name was Gus. Gus didn't like anyone, or anything.
The only thing he liked, was being mean. Gus was mean to everyone in the forest. Owl, Puffin, Crow, and many more animals. Everyone hated Gus.
They all wanted revenge. One morning, Owl, Puffin, and Crow, decided to meet up with Gus to discuss a 'meeting time' so they could meet up to 'eat lunch together'.

But really, they were setting up a plan to get revenge on Gus.
"Why did you have to bring your branch with you Owl?" Crow asked Owl when they got to the restaurant. Owl replied, "Because, Crow. Just Because." Crow rolled his eyes.
Just then, Puffin arrived. "'Sup guys, what's up?" Crow replied, "Just waiting for Gus. And would you quit talking like that? You sound silly."
Puffin started sniffling, "You hurt my feelings bro."
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Puffin. I didn't mean to. I really didn't."
"April fools!" laughed Puffin.

"Oh, no." chirped Crow. "Oh, no." said Owl, catching on.
"What's going on, guys?" Puffin asked, clueless. "Why are you saying 'Oh, no'?"
"Don't you get it Puffin? It's April fools day." Puffin was very confused, "What!? Just tell me already!"
"Puffin," Owl said. "Gus always pranks us on April fools day. He's definitely going to prank us soon, but when?" They all flew to the forest.
"Why does the forest look... different?" Owl said, looking around. "It does look different." Crow agreed.

"Something strange is going on." said Puffin. "And we need to figure out what it is."
Just then, Gus showed up out of nowhere. "Ha ha ha. You fell for my trick. You came to the forest because you knew it was April fools day and you knew I would come with a prank. But no. I came prepared."
He went over to a tree and pulled on a branch. But nothing happened. "What-what's happening?" Gus said worrying. "I spent two weeks working on this prank, and it didn't work."
