Aurora walked through the isles of the store. Most stores would stop and ask her why she was so young, not this one. She checked the list again. Canned beans, bread, marinara sauce, cheese, deli meat, apples, oranges, bananas, carrots, peppers, and yogurt. Aurora already had most of the things. She walked down one of the isles and grabbed yogurt and cheese. Then she walked to the next aisle and grabbed the fruits and veggies. Aurora walked on over to the self checkout. She paid for the food, bagged it, then ran home. “IRIS!” Yelled Calypso, “Whattt,” moaned Iris, knowing she was in trouble. “I TOLD YOU TO ONLY PUT NON PERISHABLES ON THE LIST!” Aurora, now confused, stopped putting the food away. Just then Willow entered the room, “Calypso,” Willow said into the chaos and nodded toward the other room. “Be right there,” Calypso answered. Calypso pointed her finger angrily at Iris, then followed Willow.
Aurora finished putting away the food when Willow came in. “We’re taking a vacation, pack up.” Calypso glanced at Willow and then started to pack. Aurora didn’t have much to pack and all her stuff fit in her backpack. “Ready,” she called. “Right then! Let's go,” Calypso told the whole group. On the train Willow broke the silence. “You may not believe me…” she started saying and looked at Calypso, and Calypso nodded. “But vampires are real,” Willow continued “Half bloods are vampires that can mostly control their attacks but purebloods can be dangerously powerful, and have a hard time controlling the attacks' ' She finished. “We’re going to The Maze to find out if anyone in this group is a vampire, I was taken here three years ago and I know I am human,” Calypso informed. Aurora stared at Calypso then in shock, she fell asleep. Three hours later, the train stopped. Aurora sat up with a jolt. They got off the train. “You’ll get your bags at the end,” Calypso declared and disappeared. Aurora went first; she ran to the left which she didn’t
know that the boys inhabited. After 15 minutes of wandering, someone appeared in front of her. “Hey there cutie,” the boy said slyly. “LOKI!” someone yelled from inside the bush. “Right!” he responded. “Hurry up, someone is coming!” The voice came again. Loki grabbed Aurora and dragged her into a bush. Inside the bush was a staircase and under the maze was a group of about 5 boys. Loki picked her up and threw her into a closet and locked the door. “Hey guys!”
Loki went running toward the group. “Do you think Cedric will be satisfied?” Odin asked Loki. “I think so,” Loki responded. A noise came from the stairs *Rat tat tat* “He’s coming!” said one of the boys in a rush. The noise came again *Rat tat tat*. Loki took her out of the closet. “Sit here and look normal,” he demanded, then rushed to one of the walls. Aurora was now sitting on a chair in the middle of the room trying her best to look normal, but just tensing up instead. Just then a boy walked in. Aurora sensed a magical energy around the boy. “Hail Cedric!” The boys said in unison and they all dropped to one knee. Cedric walked up to her. Aurora could now feel the magic pulsing around him ~He’s probably a pureblood~ she thought.
“Name?” Cedric demanded, “Aurora,” she squeaked. “Do you know your type?” Cedric asked again. “No,” Aurora responded, more confident this time. Cedric didn’t look pleased. “I will let you find out, one one condition. You must return here. Or else.” One boy stepped up and handed her a very large ball of yarn. “I will go now, I agree to the conditions,” she responded and ran off up the stairs. Aurora tied the end of the yarn to a bush and started to walk. After about an hour she came across a book, curiously she opened it. (Now my friends, there is something Calypso left out. The purebloods. Once they find out they are a vampire, the vampire part of their soul is unleashed. Pureblood vampires are very powerful and can only sometimes control their bloodthirstiness when a human is around, they are also extremely beautiful. Purebloods have unique powers.) She opened the book and stared at it, terrified for it said; Pureblood, Vampire. Aurora closed the book. “No. It can’t be real,” she declared to herself. Just then a piercing hit her tongue. “Ow!” she cried and felt her teeth. Fangs.
“No no no!” she yelled. She felt her body start to change, she was now a vampire. She looked into a mirror she had in her pocket, she looked like she was 15! Just then she remembered the deal and she started walking back. When she got there murmurs swept through the room. “I’m back?” she said and the boys were staring at her. “Your back!” Cedric said like she hadn't told him she was back. “And more beautiful than before! Let me guess,” Aurora cut him off. “I’m a pureblood,” “You must be hungry after that, ODIN!” Cedric called and Odin brought in two girls, one looked about 11 and the other looked about 12. “Remus found them last night at the book, they're completely human,” Odin told them. The girls looked absolutely terrified. Odin pushed the first one into a chair. Cedric bared his fangs, “Ladies first,” he told her. Aurora smelt the blood and her mind just switched. She felt like she had been a vampire her whole life. She sat on the edge of the chair and put her hand on the girl's shoulder. “Don’t worry, this won’t hurt,” Aurora told the girl. Aurora smiled and showed her fangs and the girl tried to get away but Aurora held on tight.
She opened her mouth and sunk her fangs into the girl's neck. The girl's eyes widened then she dropped dead on the chair as Aurora finished drinking and wiped the blood from her mouth. “LILIAN!” the other girl yelled “Quiet!” Odin hissed. Aurora stood up and walked back to Cedric’s side “Delicious,” she said and licked the blood from her hand. The other girl struggled as Odin pushed her into the chair. As Cedric finished drinking another boy came and took the bodies. “We’ll always have enough to drink, the others here are half bloods so they can eat regular food. We can’t. But about 1 in every 1,000,000 vampires are purebloods and about 1 in every 1,000,000,000 humans are vampires,” Cedric told her. “I need some air,” Aurora said and rushed to the top of the stairs. She saw Iris walking back to the entrance as she burst through the bush. “Aurora?” asked Iris “What are you?” Aurora asked Iris. “Human, you?” “Pureblood. Take my phone, and tell Calypso that I can’t be with you, it's too dangerous, go hurry,” Aurora told her and handed Iris her phone and Iris ran off.
Just after Aurora entered the base Loki came in. “Group of teenagers, almost to the book, youngest 13 oldest 19, about 4 boys and 2 girls. The oldest boy and the oldest girl seem to be together,” Loki blurted out. “Remus, you lead,” declared Cedric and everyone left. They made it to the book before the other teenagers did and sat down in a semicircle with Aurora and Cedric sitting in the middle of it. “This seems like a good time to ask… Aurora, will you have me?” Cedric asked her. Aurora paused for a moment. “Yes!” Aurora responded. “Quiet!” said Triton. “They’re here,” said Prospero. “Purebloods are distinguished from half bloods by their unnatural beauty and their diet,” said a girl as the group entered the enclosure. “When's that gonna help?” asked a boy. A small girl pointed at their group and Aurora and the boys stood up. “Don’t worry… it's only two purebloods and a bunch of half bloods,” said the first girl. “Go on,” said Cedric smoothly and the teenagers went to the book. The half bloods blocked the only entrance and Aurora and Cedric stayed put.
One by one the teenagers opened the book. “We’re all human,” muttered a boy. Turning to leave the teenagers realized the path was blocked. “We require a sacrifice, choose one person in the next three minutes or you're all coming,” Said Cedric bearing his fangs. The oldest boy stepped forward. “None of us are going,” he declared. “Well then,” Cedric said. “None of us are going because we're vampire hunters,” the boy said and pulled out a vampire hunter gun. (A special gun that can only harm vampires.) The rest of the group pulled out their guns and pointed them at the half bloods and the half bloods took a step back. “You sure this is going to work Theo?” Asked one of the younger boys “Yes,” responded Theo. Theo took a step forward then another. Aurora and Cedric held their ground. All in a split three seconds Theo grabbed Aurora, took two steps back and was holding the gun at her chest. "Purebloods go for a nice price at the agency, especially live ones,” smirked Theo.
Cedric snarled. “Nobody threatens my girlfriend!” Cedric growled. He took a step forward. Theo moved the gun to Aurora's shoulder and shot to show he wasn’t kidding. Aurora cried out in pain. Theo tied Aurora's hands and threw her to the floor. Theo was focused on Cedric and didn’t see Loki grab one of the other boys and take his gun. “Hey you, give me Aurora and I’ll give you this boy back,” Loki called over to them and Theo whipped around to face him. Reluctantly Theo untied Aurora and Aurora ran back to Cedrics side, her shoulder wound fully healed. Loki pushed the boy back to the group. “Let's go!” Barked Cedric and the vampires ran back to the base.

“We need a safer place, one with more prey,” Aurora told Cedric once they entered. “Do you have a place?” asked Cedirc, “I have just the place,” She responded. As the group boarded the train all the people parted to make space. After they got to the station Aurora brought them to the door of their old house. By now Aurora and Cedric hadn’t eaten in two days and they were starving. “YOU CUT YOURSELF WITH THE BUTTERKNIFE AGAIN WILLOW?” asked Calypso in a loud voice. Aurora pushed the door open. “I smell a strong scent of blood. I am hungry,” she growled and grabbed Willow. “A-Aurora?” asked Calypso. Aurora pushed Willow to the ground and began to drink her blood. “Willow!” screeched Iris and tried to step forward but Oberon held her back just then the door flew off its hinges. “Right there general,” Theo told a guy in a vampire hunter elite suit. The half bloods formed a tight circle around Aurora and Cedric.
“The tranquilizing darts will work on the half bloods but not for the purebloods,” one of the hunters told the general. The general nodded in response. In a split second six darts shot and all the half bloods fell limp on the ground. The hunters came and took the vampires. Theo and the general took out their guns and advanced. “Cedric I’m scared,” whispered Aurora in a terrified voice. “It’s alright,” he told her. A shot fired and it hit Aurora in the leg and she collapsed. “AH!” she yelled. Cedric picked her up. Just then an electric jolt hit Aurora in the chest. “AURORA!” was the last thing she heard before falling unconscious. Aurora awoke what seemed like a few hours later to Cedric and Loki shaking her. “Aurora!” Cedric said “You're awake,”. “I was only out for a few hours,” she muttered. “No Aurora, you were out for seven days,” Loki told her. Aurora looked around, it appeared that they were in a holding cell all of them, in a 10 by 10 by 10 cell.
“So hungry,” she muttered. “If she goes without food for three more days,” Cedric told Loki. “Remus!” Loki called “We’ve been hiding this for you so you wouldn’t drink it, we’ve all been pitching in,” Loki told Cedric “It will help,” was all he said to Aurora as he handed her the water bottle filled with blood. Aurora downed the bottle in less than five seconds. “Thank you,” she gasped. Oberon came running over. “Cedric, we’ve found something,” Oberon told him. When they got their Triton removed a brick and a door emerged. Everyone walked through the door. On a pedestal in the middle sat a key titled ‘key to the door’ and around it there was a scythe, a sword, three shields, a crown, and a beautiful dress. Aurora bagged the dress and took the scythe, a 3 foot long handle and a 4 foot long curved blade. Cedric took the crown, the key, and the sword of which had a 2 foot long blade. Loki, Triton, and Oberon took the shields. The group walked out and Triton replaced the brick and the door shrunk. Cedric reached through the bars and unlocked the door. A loud CLANG and the door burst open
and the group walked out. Loki, Triton, and Oberon in front with the shields and then Aurora and Cedric, then the rest of the group. They walked into a room where there was a gathering of hunters. “Hephaestus's sword and Hades’ scythe,” murmured one hunter and a sweep of anxiety swept through the room then all the hunters parted to let them through. After a few hours of wandering they came back to the house. Odin walked forward. “Wait,” said Aurora “This doesn’t feel right,” Odin stopped and went to peer through the window. “Blood drew others close,” she told them. The group appeared behind her and in the window there was a very bloody vampire drinking Iris blood. Aurora ran inside. “Let her go!” Aurora demanded and took out her scythe. The vampire put down Iris and took a defensive stance Aurora ran at him and swung her scythe cutting the vampire in half. Aurora ran over and bent down over Iris. There was a shallow wound on her left shoulder. Aurora put her hand on the wound and energy pulsed through her hand as the wound slowly healed. Calypso had been hiding in a closet and now she saw Aurora over Iris. “GET AWAY FROM HER YOU FREAK!”
Calypso screamed and ran at her, stabbing a knife through the back of her chest. Aurora gasped and then fell over, her scythe clattering to the floor twelve feet away from her. Just then the rest of the group walked in. Cedric ran over to Aurora with Loki at his heels. “You killed her! You're a monster!” hissed Cedric. “Killing monsters isn’t a crime,” Calypso said matter-of-factly. “She wasn’t hurting this girl, see look,” Loki said walking over to Iris who was now sitting upright. “And I don’t think you saw who you were hurting,” Cedric told Calypso. Aurora was on her knees now, using her arms and Cedrics’ help to stable herself. Aurora glanced up and Calypso and Calypso gasped. “A-Aurora?” Asked Calypso. Aurora nodded. “Get. It. Out,” Aurora rasped. Cedric pulled the knife out and Aurora began to heal. “You caught them, good job,” A voice came from the door. “I never agreed to any deal,” Calypso told the voice. Aurora stood up and looked for her scythe. “Looking for this?” asked the voice and Aurora turned to look at Theo. Theo spun the scythe and pointed it at Aurora.
You're really going to threaten a pureblood princess?” Asked Cedric and everybody stared at him. “When I first met Aurora she had a strong pulsing around her, stronger than a normal Purebloods. As the days went by the pulsing just got stronger. She can sense when other Purebloods are around. So I bow down to you, Aurora Kuran,” Cedric said and fell down to one knee. “Wait,” said Aurora “Aurora Kuran… Aurora Kuran,” came a soft growl from the rafters. “There's seven of them,” she declared and snatched the scythe from Theo. “Calypso take Iris and hide!” Aurora told Calypso. “Everyone else. Get ready,” “Aurora Kuran… We’ve come to take you home,” came a soft growl at first then a loud growl when seven purebloods dropped from the rafters.
3.
There was one Pureblood who was very clearly in charge, he seemed to be giving orders. Aurora took one quick glance around the room and saw that all the half bloods except Loki, were laying limp on the floor with darts in them. Aurora turned to focus her gaze on the vampires. One of them held a struggling Loki and another held a half dead Cedric. “I’ll go,” Aurora finally sighed “If you let everyone else go,” The two vampires that held Cedric and Loki dropped them and stepped toward their leader. “Then let's go,” The leader said and walked towards the door. Aurora hesitated then walked behind him, she took a quick glance back and saw the rest of the purebloods follow behind her. Outside there were two dark purple, navy blue, and black limousines. One of the purebloods opened the door to one and ushered her inside of it. The other purebloods climbed inside of another, smaller car that looked like a Minivan. The pureblood that was holding the door climbed into the driver's seat and they started on the drive. “It's going to be a long drive, you might want to sleep. By the way my name is Ernesh,” Ernesh told Aurora. Aurora looked around the car. It was one long compartment, maybe 15 feet. She spotted a deep spot in one of the seats and went over. It was filled with snacks like chips and cheese-its. She dug her hand in and clasped it around something sharp and small. Aurora pulled her hand out and saw a needle in her hand, and a drop of blood making its way down her palm.
As she saw this her eyes widened and she fell over onto the floor and blacked out. She awoke to the car bouncing on a gravel road. Aurora still felt a little dizzy so she pushed herself into a sitting position in one of the corners of the seat ‘Might as well make a good impression!’ She thought and took the dress she had out of her bag and slipped it on over her clothes. She felt around the bag and looked in it. Hades’ scythe was gone. Auroras’ mind slipped into a panic looking around frantically for her scythe but it was long gone. She finally gave up looking and sat back down, staring out the window. She heard a loud CLANG and two people slipped into the room from a window across the car. The car screeched to a stop and just sat there. The two people walked closer to her. She now realized one of them had a vampire hunter gun and the other had a vampire hunter sword. The male, the one with the gun, walked up so he was three feet away from her. “Now be a good little girl and stay where you are,” he sneered. The car started abruptly moving again.
Aurora shoved herself deeper into the seat, her eyes now wide and panicked. “And what is your name?” asked the other person. Aurora paused for a second and swallowed before answering “Daeva,” “Bring the other one in!” The first person called out the window. A minute later another girl stumbled into the seat next to her. The girl gave her a terrified look and passed her a small piece of paper. It read; The names Kalevala but you can call me Kali. The guards think my name is Arachne Yours?. Aurora took out a small piece of lead that would’ve gone in a mechanical pencil and scribbled back; Aurora, they think I’m Daeva… You seem powerful. You a pureblood? She passed back the note and Kalevala read it and nodded. The car stopped in a patch of dark woods. “Get up and come with us,” one of the people said and Aurora and Kalevala reluctantly followed. Aurora saw infront of her a huge what seemed to be an abandoned mansion. Aurora walked with the people frantically looking all about, there seemed to be people in the trees. As the people knocked on the door Aurora took a second to take it in. She smirked because she sensed one
pureblood, and six other lesser beginnings. She looked behind her and saw more people come out of the minivan, not the purebloods that had entered, but more humans. Aurora built up the courage to ask “What did you do with Ernesh,” she demanded. The people didn’t answer as the door swung open. A young girl that looked about 7 was in the entrance. Her eyes were red as blood and she wore two blonde braided pigtails that fell down to her waist. She also wore a long yellow sun sundress over a sky blue shirt. “Get your dad,” the person demanded and walked into the room. “Yes Lorem!” The girl pipped and ran up a set of stairs. The mansion was like any other mansion you could think of and the outside was just an appearance. Just then a professional looking man walked into the small room. “We found two girls,” said one of the men. The professional man took a long look at Aurora and Kalevala. “Bring the one in the dress to room A1 and the girl in the t-shirt to room A2,” he declared. “Yes sir!” said the other man and started to walk the girls down the hall. It
opened up into an elaborate hotel looking hallway that had a diamond encrusted floor and crystal chandeliers. The man walked to the end of the hall where two doors that looked like castle doors were labeled A1 and A2. “Daeva, this is your room. Arachne, this is yours,” the man said pointing at A1 then A2. Aurora reluctantly entered her room and as she closed the door and looked around her she was in pure awe. There was a bed bigger than a king sitting on the far wall in the middle with lace and mesh veils hanging down from a post five feet above it. On the left was a walk-in closet with at least three hundred dresses, the cutest clothes you could ever imagine, about one hundred pairs of shoes, and more jewelry than you could imagine. On the right was a bathroom the size of a living room, complete with a hot tub, a tub that you could swim in, a shower the size of a couch, and a complete vanity set. She walked out of the bathroom and looked up, the ceiling must have been forty feet high. In the middle of the room there were floating glass stairs that lead up to a hanging loft area the size of a bedroom. It had
three couches, about one thousand books, a complete gaming set, and a giant bean bag that looked like a bed. Aurora walked down from the loft and opened the veils to the bed and saw it had fifteen pillows and thirty squishmallows. The room area was about one hundred feet by seventy five feet. The rest of the room was filled with anything a person could want. What seemed like the largest TV in the universe, a dance floor, a karaoke machine, a microphone. There was even a corner where it had all the pet stuff you would ever need. Aurora walked over to the back wall where there was a set of elaborate glass doors. They lead out to a thirty foot balcony with a sunken swimming pool. The view was a lot better than when she had first entered because back here it was a sunny forest with birds and deer. Aurora noticed that on the opposite side of the wall she had come in there was another set of doors which led to Kalevala’s room.
4.
Aurora walked back into her room and sat down at a table on the left side of the room. Just as she sat down the professional looking man came in and sat down by her. “My name is Pheno, Pheno Ichru,'' the man told her. Aurora processed this information. ‘Ichru! ICHRU! Kurans biggest enemy. I read that in VAMPIRE A HISTORY.’ she thought. “I’m Daeva, Daeva K-. Daeva Kamino,” Aurora quickly stopped herself from saying Kuran. “And what type are you?” Pheno asked. “Half-blood,” Aurora lied. “I’ve been looking for some more kids. You see I only have one, my seven year old daughter Minerva,” Pheno explained. “And I want to adopt you and your friend. Would you be ok with that?” Pheno asked her. “That's a lot at once…” muttered Aurora. “Your friend Arachne already agreed,” Pheno pushed. “Ok then I guess it's fine,” Aurora sighed “Ok I’ll see you at dinner,”. Pheno left and Aurora went to read on one of the couches in the loft. After about
an hour of reading there was a knock at the door. Aurora went to open it and all that was there was a large box and a smaller box. Aurora took them in and opened them. The smaller box contained a watch which she put on. The other larger box contained a kennel. Aurora opened the kennel and took out a small animal. It looked like a maroon kitten with small black bat wings and fangs. “Hmmm… I’m going to name you Astrid!” Aurora declared and set the small cat on a very puffy and furry and large cat bed in the storage of pet supplies. She carried the cat bed over to the bed and put it down. Aurora then started to examine the watch. It has a little note at the top of the screen so Aurora clicked on it and a schedule came up. As she was reading it she noticed Kalevala out on the porch. She decided not to go out there and noticed the time, almost time for dinner. Aurora quickly changed into a tank top and shorts with a miniskirt. As she wandered the halls looking for the dining room she ran into Minerva. “Hey there Minerva, can you tell me where the dining room is?” Aurora asked her. “Sure! I’m going there too!” Minerva piped and started down the
hall. After a minute or two of walking they came to two doors, made of oak wood and lined with metal. “I have to do this… I’m sorry Minerva. Also It's Aurora, not Daeva. It's Aurora Kuran,” Aurora told Minerva then grabbed her and threw her into the dining room right before running off back down the hall. She tore back to her room and blocked the door with piles of pet food. “Astrid c’mon!” she said to her cat then slipped Astrid into the bag. She had time so she ran to the closet and picked up a few backpacks. She packed them full of technology, books, clothes, water bottles, and snacks. She also saw some blood tablets and grabbed those. Aurora bolted out the porch “KALI COME HERE!” she yelled into Kalevala’s room. Kalevala jumped to her feet. “I have all we need, just come, we’re getting out of here,” Aurora briefly filled her in before going to the edge of the balcony. “Wait, Aurora. Before I follow you, what are you?” asked Kalevala. “Pureblood, Aurora Kuran. Now if you want to be safe come on! We’re coming down!” Aurora yelled into the woods. Aurora grabbed the edge of the balcony and vaulted over, landing on a tree branch a few feet down.
