This book is dedicated to all dance students of all ages, shapes, colors and sizes, including those who had their dreams shattered in the process of becoming a dancer.
The greatest wish is to bring hope, options and positivity to all.

Was there a time when all you wanted to do is to dance, dance and dance? Dance is or was pure magic and joy to you! Ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and latin dance are all so wonderful! This is a story about all and any of us dancers, because everyone experiences difficulties at some point. The name of our dancer in this story is Mea. She loves dance like we all love dance.

I love to dance and I want to be a professional ballerina when I grow up. I am so excited to dance all day long!
Years go by and dance is taking all my focus and time. I love it. It is my life. My dance dreams and goals get bigger and bigger... I am so excited about my future in dance.

It is getting so competitive in dance class. I have no real friends anymore! I am scared that I might not ne good enough.
Maybe I will be really good and then I get to work for a dance company and everyone will see how great I am.
My parents would be so proud too. They are reminding me that this hobby is costing so much money and time. I feel bad. I simply must succeed.
I have been practising for years now. I just went to audition and fell on the floor. I felt so humiliated. I did not get selected to dance in the show. I am sad.
My life is over. I feel totally devastated and like a loser. My leg is hurting too. I am miserable and all my dance classmates got selected to dance in the show. They do not even talk to me anymore.
Can I ever be happy again? I spent all these years dancing. I did not get selected for a even a small part. I am too tall, too well rounded and I wear glasses. Ballerinas are skinny, pretty and great at ballet. I am none of those things and I am so disappointed in myself. None of my friends from dance class talk to me anymore. They are happy, successfull and beautiful. I wish I was one of them.
I am not good and never enough. I will put all my dance stuff in a bag a just give it away. No reason to keep the stuff. I feel so sad.

My life as I knew it is over. I have wasted years in dance and it is of no value. This is so upsetting. I am supposed to change to a different career, but I cannot imagine anything else. I loved dance so much and now I have nothing to focus on. My goals have always been in dance. There is nothing else I want to do. I am just not good enough. My dance drams are destroyed.
