
To start this story, Amelia Sedley was a beautiful girl. She could dance, sing, and everyone loved her. In the other side, her friend was Becky Sharp, who was an orphan of an artist and a French dancer. They were in Miss Pinkerton’s boarding school so when Amelia and Becky were about to leave, she only gave Amelia a present. Miss Pinkerton’s sister, felt pity for Becky and she gifted her a present too.
Amelia was going to return with herfamily and Becky was going to work for the family of Sir Pitt but before that, Becky stayed in Amelia’s house for a while. There, Becky met Joseph Sedley, who was the brother of Amelia and she immediately found this like and opportunity to get out of the poorness.
Chapters 1-5
Joseph Sedley was a large man; he had a good position and was 12 years older than his sister. He dressed in fashionable clothes but however, he was too shy. Then, he met Becky but he would not socialize with her, after living together that period of time, they decided to invite Becky to stay one more week with them.
Time passed and Joseph fell in love with her but he was too shy to propose her. In the case of Amelia, she was in love with George Osborne and everyone expected him to marry Amelia. The day that Joseph planned to propose Becky, he drank too much and finally he didn’t do it. He went to Scotland for a few months and that was the end of their story.
The Sedley’s took Becky to her new position with the Crawley’s, Sir Pitt had two kids with his first wife: Rawdon and Pitt. And when she died, he had two daughters, Rose and Violet; Becky will be the teacher of the girls. Sir Pitt was very stingy and Becky didn’t feel comfortable and the house but Becky took advantage of the situation and she decided to start making friends with good position people so that will help her to rise a better position. Miss Crawley, Sir Pitt sister. Stood with them at the house. And Becky, Rawdon and Miss Crawley became more friends.
George Osborne’s sisters thought that Amelia was not good enough for the Osborne family. The war started and Amelia was afraid that something could happened to George.
When the war finished Amelia was very happy and George took her to the Osborne house. Mr. Osborne told George that the Sedley’s were not in a good position and he didn’t want a poor man’s daughter in the Osborn family.
Old miss Crawley was sick and she left Queens Crawley and went to her house in London, tacking Becky with her. Miss Briggs , an old friend of miss Crawley went to see her but Becky didn’t let she enter to the bedroom. Also Miss brings wanted to get some of the money of Miss Crawley when she died . Everybody was expecting that old miss Crawley would die but she felt better after a few days. They forgot about lady Crawley that was sick too and anybody cared about her at all.
Randow fell in love with Becky and Mrs. Bite encouraged him to marry Becky because she thought that in that way he Wouk make Mrs. Crawley angry , so she wouldn’t Leave her money to Randow. However she warned him that his father also likes Becky and he might marry she if lady Crawley died.
Becky and George see again in an afternoon tea in Mrs. Crawley’s house but they barely talked, because Becky was suspecting that George try to stoped joshep of proposing she. Not long after this lady Crawley died. Sir Pitt proposed marriage to Becky but she said no .
Chapters 6 -10
Mrs. Briggs was watching trough the keyhole when she saw Sir Pitt proposing to Becky. So she ran out to told Mrs Crawley what was happening. Mrs Crawley felt absolutely angry and said to sir Pitt that if their family wasn’t enough for him. Also they’re were surprised that Becky refused to him , so they try to found her husband. Randow rented a house and waited , Two nights after Becky secretly left Mrs. Crawley’s house.
Mrs Briggs read the note that Becky left for she and rushed downstairs to tell Mrs Bute the news. The note said that Becky was married with Randow Crawley , but this wasn’t the best news to them.
Mrs. Bute was worried that Mrs Crawley would be friend again with Randow and Becky and left to her all of her money when she dies . She decided to made a plan about this , she start saying to everybody that Mrs Crawley illnes was because of the marriage of Randow and Becky . Also she didn’t let Mrs. Crawley get out of her dark room and everyday she would tell to she “you are very ill” and said all the bad things about Becky and Randow and the poor old woman would believed her. Dobbin loved Amelia even though he wouldn’t admit it himself , but she knew that Amelia loves George. He visited Amelia’s father but would not convince him to allow George to marry her. But he told George to marry her and he said that he couldn’t do it in that moment. George left his house and told to dobbin that he would marry Amelia. The day of the wedding was raining but Amelia and George were happy. Mr. Osborne was very surprised that George married Amelia and that night that he left out , he told to his wife and daughters that George was not longer his son.
Chapters 11-15
Becky and Rawdon were in Paris and Becky was making a lot of rich friends. Someone wrote to Miss Crawley that Becky was expecting a baby. Miss Crawley was so angry that she told Sir Pitt that if he married Lady Jane she would leave him the entire inheritance.
Mr. Osborne was very upset when he found out that his son had died in the war, since he would never be able to apologize to him. He went to visit where his son was murdered and buried but he didn't visit Amelia. When Mr. Osborne returned to Brussels where he met Amelia and Dobbin, Dobbin approached him and told him that Amelia was pregnant and needed money, but Mr. Osborne refused. Dobbin was in love with Amelia, but knew there was no room for him in her life. One day, Dobbin arrived at Amelia's home carrying many gifts for little George and told Amelia that he was going to be gone for a while. Rawdon and Becky returned to England when they found out that Miss.Crawley was ill. When she died they found out that the entire imoney had been left to Pitt and Rawfin had nothing. Rawdon continued to gamble and often had gentlemen come to his house to play cards with him. One of the card players was a very rich and important man called Lord Steyne.
Sir.Pitt was very ill and then he died, and Mr. Pitt became the new Sir. Pitt. Becky told Lord Steyne that Sir Piitt had died. Rawdon wanted to take his son to Queen's Crawley, but Becky wouldn't let him.
They arrived at Queen's Crawley, where Becky became friends with Lady Jane and Lady Southdown and was always polite to everyone. Rawdon was also very respectful.
Old Mr. Osborne was getting older after his son's death and was never happy.
Dobbin's sisters, who knew Jane, sometimes visited Amelia and one day they took little George for a carriage ride, and took him to meet Jane, who gave him a gold watch.
Soon, Becky, her husband and her son went to Queen’s Crawley at Christmas, she didn’t really like her son, but lady Jane, little Rawdon’s aunt, was very kind, loving and cared about him. On the other hand, Christmas at the Sedley’s were not as cheerful as it was at Queen’s crawly. Amelia was giving her widow’s pension to her parents and his brother Joseph was seding money from India. Eventually, little George met his grandfather, Mr. Osborne. Later, amelia received a letter from him asking to take his grandson and make him his heir in place of his dead father. Amelia didn’t want to give them her son, but her family didn’t have any money at that moment.
