It was presentation day for this 2nd grade
class all about the Ancient Indian Empire.
Each student has a different topic to present
on, "Okay class let's get started!" Said Mr.
Ghost.

The economy of the Harappan Culture was based
on agriculture and trade. The polity was very
formal and organized. And their government was
run by priests. Harappan religion was a lot like
other ancient civic religions, they were based on
nature and natural phenomena.

The Indo-Aryan economy was based off of hunting,
gathering, and herding (mostly sheep and cattle).
Their polity was tribal structured, they were always
geared towards war. Their laws were based on
tradition that had been passed down from
generation to generation. The Indo-Aryan religion
was a very important part of their culture, it's
highly structured and organized.

The Vedic Culture economy revolved around
agriculture and trade. They raised a variety of
crops so they didn't have to trade as much. Their
polity was a small independent city-state that was
lead by a king. A city-state is a permanent city
supported the surrounding farm land. The Vedic
Culture's religion involved worshiping nature, like
the sun, earth, and sky. The rituals were
performed in nature opposed to a temple like other
cultures. The Vedic Culture used the caste system,
which Larry the spider will present to you next.

As Ernie said, the Vedic Culture used the Caste
System. The Caste System is basically the four
"groups" each member of society was put into.
Starting at the bottom were common
workers/peasants, above them were merchants
and farmers, then warriors and rulers, and finally
priests at the "top of the food chain" so to speak.

The Hinduism religion is known in many different
ways because of how the development of it
changed so much over such a long period of time,
and the unawareness of how it was invented. This
religion believes in reincarnation which is they
believe that everyone on earth does not have one
life, but when they die they are reborn as a new
form of life. That's one of the big things Hinduism
is known for.

Siddhartha Gautama founded Buddhism and he
became known as the Buddha or the enlightened
one. He lived a great life in a palace with a wife
and an infant son, but he left them to explore the
values of life and death and what he believes they
mean. And later in life started teaching what he
believed. Buddhism is very similar to Hinduism
because Gautama was born a Hindu himself. But
there were differences like, Hindu's had to know
and believe The Four Noble Truths and The
Eightfold Path.

The Maurayan Empire was very organized and
efficient, they were an autocracy. An autocracy is
very similar to a dictatorship, one single ruler with
absolute power over everyone. Chandragupta
founded the Maurayan Empire and he expanded
Ancient India a lot. After Chandragupta the
Buddhist emperor Ashoka took over and he
maintained what Chandragupta built but once
Ashoka died this great empire started to fall from
invasions of southern princes.

The Kushan empire was located in Northwest India
in and around the Hindukush mountains. Kujula
Kadphises was the first emperor for the Kushan
empire, Greek was there first official language.
Their currency were coins mad of copper gold and
silver. They expanded their empire by invading
surrounding towns and Indian villages.
