From the other side of the lake  stands a green linden tree  and on that linden three little birds are singing.

They weren't birds  but three brothers  arguing over one girl  which one of them would get her .

One says: "You are mine".  The second says: "If God wills".  And the third says: "My dearest  why are you so sad?"  

- "How can I not be sad? They are forcing me to marry an old man.  There's little time left, just two weeks.  I can still be with you, my dear." she says.
