To my amazing sister, Matilde. So she can learn to be kind.

In an old town in China, there was an old temple. Even older than the town itself.
And in the temple, There was an old man. Almost as old as the temple.
The people respected him because he was a great warrior.
All the villains were afraid of him.
But he was as calm as the forest.
One day, a young boy was causing mayhem in the town market.
The old man took the boy and asked him why he was acting the way he was.
"I lost my parents. And I needed a place to stay. So I tried to be mean to people so they would see how much I was suffering," the boy said.
"Let me take you home," the man replied.
The next day, the man brought the boy outside of his temple and said, "Let me teach you a thing or two about kindness. It's like working in some way. You work hard, you get money. If you don't, you get nothing. If you're kind, you get treated well. If not, you don't."
"I think I understand now," the boy said. "I'm sorry I was being so bad. I'll promise to be good from now on!"
"You are a smart boy," the man said kindly. "You will go very far in life. And become very handsome. Like me!"
The next day, the boy kept his promise. He helped as much as he could. Suddenly, he heard a call for help. He raced in the direction of the call. A cat was stuck in a tree! The boy climbed up and took the cat back down.
