Meet Jennifer. She is sixteen years old.
She has a brother, a sister, parents, a
boyfriend named David, and some
friends. Jennifer likes dancing, baking,
singing, hunting, and going camping.
She used to be very happy and full of
energy. Whenever you saw her she had
a smile on her face.

Things have not been going so well for
Jennifer lately. She misses her father
dearly because he goes on long
business trips. Her and her mother bud
heads quite often, and they seem to be
fighting more and more. She feels very
alone when she is home. She feels as if
she goes by unnoticed and often finds
herself just sitting alone doing nothing.

Jennifer spent most of her days crying
in her bedroom. Her friends weren't
talking to her, and David was always
busy with something. She just wanted
to talk to someone who cared. She tried
texting and calling the people she
thought would care. Nobody replied or
had interest in what she had to say, so
she soon gave up.

Jennifer started doing poorly in school. She
couldn't concentrate during class or on her
homework. She stopped eating because she
had lost her apatite, and lost a lot of weight.
He mother was bugging her one day and on
her case about her change in behavior. She
would shout meant things to her like "What is
wrong with you?" and "Why can't you just act
normal?"

Jennifer felt more alone than ever. She
heard nasty rumors people had said about
her. Her friends stopped talking to her.
Jennifer and David were getting in fights a
lot lately as well. Jennifer thought that the
only choice she had left was to hurt
herself. She could no longer sleep at night.
She cried, and cried in her bedroom. She
was ashamed of the person she had
become.
