Every culture has its own fairy tale. All around the world. Every fairy tale reveals
something unique about the culture from which it originated. The history, tastes, world
view of the culture comes to life in the shape of princesses, animals, heroes, magical
places etc.
This book contains recipes from all around the world. Every recipe refers to a certain
fairy tale that is well known in that culture. Some of the recipes are traditional foods,
some of them are prepared during special events in that culture, and some of them are
just food we love to eat and prepare for our families and relatives, and found their
correspondence to a fairy tale we love.
You are welcomed to go back to the magical worlds of childhood, and add some
fragrance and flavor to your favorite stories.

Rapunzel
This fairy tale originated in Germany, and tells about a
beautiful girl born out of a cabbage to childless parents.
The stuffed cabbage is a traditional German dish, usually
prepared during winter. The cabbage is a great source for
vitamins, and the meat helps your immunity system cope
with the cold winter of northern Europe. The dish usually is
accompanied by a glass of root beer.




Stuffed
Cabbage
Ingredients:
1 cabbage (medium
sized)
500 gr of ground beef
1/2 cup of rice
1 tbsp. olive oil
2 garlic cloves,
minced
1 can of tomato sauce
1 tsp. of sugar
1 tbsp. of paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
Pinch of pepper





Preparation:
1.Put the cabbage in a large pot and cover it with water. Boil for 15 minutes, or
until the leaves of the cabbage are soft and detach easily from the head of the
cabbage. Separate the leaves from the head and let them cool for 10 minutes.
2.Put the meat and the rice in a medium sized bowl. Add the oil, salt and paprika.
Mix everything together using your hands.
3.Spread one of the cabbage leaves on a working surface. Put a handful of the
meat mixture on the leaf, and fold it over. Prepare the rest of the leaves as
mentioned.
4.Heat the oil and the minced garlic in a big pot. When it is slightly fried – add the
tomato sauce, the sugar and the pepper. Boil. When boiling, place the cabbage
leaves inside, cover and cook for an hour and a half.


Cinderella
At midnight, Cinderella's
chariot turns into a
pumpkin.
The story originated in Italy,
and therefore – you have a
pumpkin pizza!
Tasty, healthy and
comforting, especially
during Halloween.
The recipe is Etti's
invention!

Ingredients:
4 cups of flour
1 tbsp. of dry yeast
1/2 cup of olive oil
2 cans of tomato
sauce
1 cup of olives
400 gr. Of pumpkin
400 gr. chopped
Mozzarella cheese

Preparation:
1.Put the flour and the yeast in a large bowl. Mix. Add 1 cup of warm
water and kneed for 15 minutes. Add the olive oil, and let it rest for 2
hours.
2.Cook the pumpkin in a pot filled with water for 30 minutes. When
done, take it out and mesh it in a bowl. Add the olives and mix.
3.Flatten the dough to a circle shape. Spread the tomato sauce on it.
Spread the pumpkin mixture on the dough. Put it in an oven that was
heated to 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
4.Spread the cheese and bake for 5 minutes.


Snow white
This Russian beauty has
the white complexion and

contrast it.
The apple is a very
important component of
the story.
This apple – cherry salad
resembles both the
whiteness of her skin, and
the redness of her lips.

neighbor.
Traditionally prepared in
her family on birthdays.
A healthy, juicy desert to
end your meal with.

Snow White
Apple Salad
Ingredients:
5 red apples
2 boxes of cherries
2 lettuces
2 bags of sugar coated
pecan nuts
Vinaigrette sauce
2 tbsp. of sugar
Pinch of Cinnamon
Preparation:
1.Chop the apples into
1 cm cubes.
2.Chop the cherries.
3.Slice the lettuce.
4.Mix all the
ingredients together in
a large bowl.

The Snake Prince
A famous Indian fairy tale tells
about a poor woman that bathes
in a river, and when she comes
out she finds a snake in her pot.
Later on that snake becomes a
necklace, and when presented
to the king – it turns into a baby
boy.
This vegetarian dish made of rice
and vegetables is served to
honor special guests, wishing
them prosperity and fertility.
A perfect choice for a light-
weight meal, with an oriental
touch.

Ingredients
2 cups of
Basmati rice
1 chopped onion
3-4 green chilies
1 cup of mixed
vegetables
(potatoes, green
beans, carrot,
cauliflower,
green peas, baby
corn etc)
1 tsp. Turmeric
powder
2 tsp. Garam
Masala
2-4 tbsp.
Ghee/butter
Salt as needed
3 cups of water
4 banana leaves
for decoration




Preparation:
1. Heat the oil/ghee in a pan. Saute the onions till it turns golden brown.
2. Add the green chilies and fry.
3. Add the garam masala powder and turmeric powder.
Fry till oil separates from the masala.
4. Add all the vegetables and fry for a minute. Next add the rice and fry for a
minute.
5. Add water and cook till the rice is done.
6. Place a banana leaf on a plate, and spread the rice in the shape of a snake on
the leaf.
