To my nieces, Chelsea, Brooke, Sarah, and Lacie, you bring happiness to my life and all those around you.
To my brother and his wife, Sam, and Stacey, as special needs parents, you don't have the power to make life "fair," but you always make it joyful for Chelsea, Brooke, Sarah, and Lacie.
Having a child with disabilities teaches you a level of love, patience, protection, compassion, and understanding you didn't know existed

One brisk, chilly morning in January, Chris arrived at Icy Escapades Elementary School. Chris arrived at 8:00 a.m. to start his day.
The children began to pour in by the carloads. Chris greeted each one as he held his stop sign for the cars to stop. Chris enjoyed interacting with the children each morning just to put a smile on their little faces. It made his day to get their day off to a good start.

STOP

That afternoon, when school let out, Little Johnny stopped to talk to Chris. He told him his family was going to Arctic Amusements on Saturday morning. It was a snow park that everyone loved to go to. Chris told him to have fun and be safe!

The following Monday when the children arrived at school they noticed that Chris the crossing guard was nowhere to be found. They were greeted by Frosty Fest who told them that Chris didn't show up for work today. The children frowned and couldn't believe Chris had gone missing. When they got to their classroom they decided to make "Missing Posters" to find him.

When school let out that afternoon, Little Johnny, CJ, and Sadie ran to the crosswalk, hoping to find Chris, but he was still nowhere to be seen.
On their way home they put up the missing poster signs they made in school. They still couldn't believe he had gone missing.

The children went about their day. After school, they planned to meet at Little Johnny's house to continue searching for Chris.
After school, CJ and Sadie walked home to ask their mom if they could go to Little Johnny's house. Mom said yes, but they had to come home when the streetlights came on.
