As the Christmas season nears, the community of Knoxville is getting ready for its Annual House Decorating Contest. Each year, the families loved competing because it brought the community together. They also loved seeing the children’s faces light up when they rode through town looking at the lights.

       The Franklins and Clarks, two of Knoxville's most competitive families, were ecstatic to start decorating. They were looking forward to this year because it marks the twenty-fifth anniversary.

       The next day, when Linne got home from work, she told her husband about the poster she had seen in the breakroom. Every year, they enjoyed competing against other families in the community. This year, they were so anxious to start decorating because the grand prize was an all-expense-paid trip to Disneyworld. They had never been to Florida, but Linne had always dreamed of going.

          on will be judged December 13-19,               the winners will be announced on                           Saturday December 20                         at the annual tree lighting ceremony                        Prizes will be awarded                             1st place - all-expense paid trip to                                        Disneyworld    

       So the next morning, when Jack woke up, he told Linne he would start getting the decorations out of the garage when he got home from work, so they could start decorating over the weekend.

        After work, Jack took all the decorations out of the garage and checked the lights to make sure they still worked. 

       The next day, when Linne got home, she couldn't wait to show Jack what she had purchased at work.

        Every year, they made it a tradition to add something new to their display. So this year, Linne wanted to add something extra special since it was going to be the twenty-fifth anniversary of Knoxville. She decided to add a nativity scene. 

       Saturday finally came. Linne got up early and made breakfast. After breakfast, Linne started putting out the lawn ornaments while Jack got the ladder from the garage. When he returned, Linne assisted him with putting santa's sleigh and Rudolph on the roof. Then they continued putting lights on the tree, a wreath on the door, and last but not least, the nativity scene.
