Threads, a small owl, lived in a big tree near the Old Town in Toruń. Every evening, she flew above the city. She loved watching the red roofs, the old buildings, and the Vistula River. But most of all, she loved learning about the history of Toruń.

One night, Threads flew to the Town Hall. She sat on the tower and looked around. People were walking, laughing, and eating gingerbread. The smell of honey and spices was in the air.

Threads remembered a story she heard from another owl:
“A long time ago, in 1233, the Teutonic Knights built the city of Toruń. They chose this place because it was close to the river. Ships came with goods, and Toruń became an important trade city. Many people came to live and work here. They built strong walls, big churches, and beautiful houses.”
Threads flew to one of the oldest buildings in Toruń — the ruins of the Teutonic Castle. She sat on a stone and thought, “So many things happened here. I want others to remember them too.”

Then she remembered another legend — the story of the frog problem and the braver artisan.
