WOW!

Exposition
Once upon a time in a land filled with bright Truffula Trees, the Once-ler wandered. Fishes danced in the ponds around the trees and the bears hid in the shade and ate the fruit off the trees. He saw the amazing trees, the silky texture, the sweet smell made him jumping with joy.

Perfect!
Exposition
The Once-ler thought of an idea. He would use the trees to make his Thneeds. The Once-ler chopped down a tree, then another, and another until there was no more.

What can I do?

You must find a way.
Conflict
All the trees were gone. The land became quiet and lonely. The birds and animals went away. The Once-ler sat alone. He felt sad. “What have I done?” he whispered. The Once-ler then heard a tiny voice, it was the Lorax! “I speak for the trees,” the Lorax said. “Go far and find how to help.” The Once-ler stood up. “I will try,” he said.

Rising Action 1
While following a rocky path, he visits a humble Christian village. There were little penguins running around, and a gardener penguin taking care of the plants. The gardener penguin noticed the Once-ler watching him. “Why do you plant so much?” The Once-ler asked. “God gave us this world,” the penguin said. “We take care of it.”
This was called stewardship caring for the Earth and all its gifts (James Madison).

Think about what your actions can do.

Rising Action 2
The Once-ler traveled far and met a wise Buddhist monk sitting under a Bodhi tree. The monk taught him about mindful right mindfulness. “When you pay attention before you act,” said the monk, “you can make kinder choices” ("The Eightfold). The Once-ler closed his eyes and listened to the gentle sounds of the wind and animals.

Go with nature. Let things happen naturally.

Rising Action 3
The Once-ler came across a river. There lied an old Taoist dragon flowing through the water. The water flowed slowly with the dragon. It did not push or pull. The dragon then came up to the Once-ler and taught him about Wu Wei. The dragon said that life is like water. That it flows the best when it doesn't try too hard (Joppich). The Once-ler looked around him. “I will try to grow and flow with nature, just like the trees.”
