As the big, bold sign came closer and closer, and Ronald’s
grip on her hand slightly tightened, Rikki began to panic.
“NO! I don’t want to go on the ride Ronald!”
Ronald just shook his head and continued to push through the
crowd until they were standing at the end of the line. As the
crowd in front of them talked animatedly, Rikki just stood
there glaring at her older brother who was now full on
smirking at her.
“What was that Rikki? You don’t want to go on the roller
coaster? Well looks like you’re too late cause were already in
line for the Super Duper Roller Coaster!” Ronald boasts.

Rikki just looked at the line that was slowly disappearing,
trying to figure out how she got into this mess in the first place.
She hated roller coasters, not that she’s ever been on one, but
still hated them. Just looking up at the giant climb, steep drop,
stomach twisting loops and most of all, the toe-curling screams
of the poor victims who chose to go on the ride, made Rikki
want to puke and run away. But Ronald had other plans. He
knew that her sister despised roller coasters, so he, as Rikki’s
awesome, older brother, decided he should take Rikki on the
biggest roller coaster at the amusement park. It was a great
idea until Rikki found out and fought through it every step to
the long line.

Speaking of long lines, the line was now getting shorter and
Rikki and Ronald were up next. Rikki looked pale and Ronald
was jumping with excitement. “Ron please. I don’t think I can
do it. Let’s just go back and eat deep fried mars bars. I can
even pay for them!” Rikki said.
Ron was starting to think this was a bad idea. “I’m sorry Rikki,
I didn’t realize you really didn’t want on go on the ride. But we
made it this far and you’ve never been on one! You might like
it in the end! Just go on this with me and I will buy you all of
the deep fried mars bars you want.”
“Fine, but just once.” Ronald gave Rikki a great big smile just
at the attendant came up and let them in. Ronald dragged
Rikki to the very front of the Super Duper Roller Coaster.
Before they knew it, the lap bars came down and they were on
their way to the giant climb to the top.

The coaster made loud ticking noises as it went up, up, up.
With each tick, Rikki felt her panic build and her breaths
coming out shorter. The higher they went, the more Rikki kept
yelling in her head about how she was going to die. But still the
coaster went higher, and higher, and slowly in came to the top
waiting to tip. As the coaster slowly tipped over the edge,
Rikki’s knuckles were turning white from her death grip on the
bar. Before Rikki had the chance to scream, the ride was
plunging down the 80 degree drop. Rikki felt her cheeks being
pushed back and her eyes began to water. Around her she
could see the world whipping past her and she could hear the
loud, shrill shrieks and hollers from her brother and the other
riders. Her stomach was filled with butterflies and with each
drop, turn, and loop the roller coaster brought, Rikki felt her
stomach lurch and her hair being whipped around.
