The story that you are about to read is unlike any other.
For you see, it is not about a princess or her step-mother.
There are no dwarves, castles, witches, or apples that poison.
There is no newly-wed couple riding into the horizon.

This is a story about Wolfred, he has teeth, claws, and fur that is
brown. Though you shouldn't be afraid, for Wolfred is the nicest
wolf in town. Each day he does as the other wolves do. Wolfred is
just like me and you. He works, he cleans, he paints, he loves to
cook his favourite meal; rabbit stew.

He really tries his best to be jolly, and every day he’ll give
you a smile.
But something is upsetting him, and it has done for a while.
The townsfolk and his neighbours believe he is big and bad.
But they’ve got it all wrong, it is really very sad.

Whilst walking through the woods and whistling the same
old melody.
Wolfred spied a girl wearing a red cloak and smiled at her
pleasantly.
She looked up in horror, and started to quake in her boots.
The girl dropped her basket, and out rolled the fresh fruits.

Wolfred retrieved the mangos, he picked up the pear.
He thought “this ought to make her see that I care.”
She stood still, watching him with her eyes so wide.
“PLEASE, MR WOLF, DON’T EAT ME” she cried.

“Please, don’t pay attention to the teeth in my jaws,
Even I sometimes forget that I have these claws!”
But it was too late, the girl was already running.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time that Wolfred
took such a shunning.

This happened a lot you see, in fact, almost every day.
Poor Wolfred often wondered, “did it always have to be
this way?”
He sulked and he whimpered, it seems Wolfred’s had
enough.
“There must be something I can do, to stop me looking
so tough.”

“I need people to understand
that I’m not such a bad guy,
I must make them see that I’m
funny and sweet. I’ve simply got
to try!”
He wondered and he pondered,
he came up with a plan.
“I’ll wear a dress! No, I can’t do
that, I’ll look like my gran!”

“There’s got to be something that the townsfolk will enjoy,
I could buy them all presents, they’ll each get a toy!”
He thought about it some more, and realised that he was
not so wealthy,
“This is hopeless” he thought and he returned home
feeling empty.

The very next morning whilst having a wander through
the meadow,
Wolfred saw something in the distance that was scruffy
and yellow.
He strolled towards what appeared to be a house made
of straw,
And out popped three piggies, they stared at Wolfred in
awe.

This is his chance, he got to show them he’s dandy,
For he’s not a wolf who is bitter and angry.
“Hello, little piggies, I am Wolfred, a friendly chap!”
“We don’t believe you Mr. Wolf, this must be a trap!”
