Oscar was like no other duckling that the barn animals had ever seen. He was bigger than his siblings and had a long tail, whiskers, and tall ears.

Oscar was a kitten that had been adopted by a family of ducks, which is why he ate corn instead of cat food. Some days, though, he would just watch his siblings eat. Other days he would say hi to a butterfly. And sometimes he would leave to watch the sun rise.

When his family went to the pond he would go, too. Oscar liked trips to the pond. Oscar liked to swim, but sometimes he would take naps in the warm afternoon sun instead. He also liked to bat at the fish with his small paws.

Oscar would follow his family every where they went -- waddling, of course. Sometimes he would stray away from the line to chase a mouse. Other times he would slow down to chase a butterfly. He did not like to walk in line.

Hello butterfly!
Get back in line Oscar

While Oscar liked to do duck things he still liked to do cat things, too. If there was one thing Oscar liked more than napping in the sun it was chasing mice. How he loved to do it, but his siblings did not join in this interest. They would shake their heads, and then go get their mom who always put a stop to Oscar's fun.

Oscar stop playing with the mouse!
Mom, Oscar is playing with a mouse.
Mouse!!!

One day Oscar got so mad at his mom for not letting him play with a mouse that he ran away. In the woods behind the barn he bumped into another kitten. Once Oscar got over his fright he asked the kitten what its name was. The kitten said his name was Otto. Oscar introduced himself and told the Otto where he lived and a little about his family, but before he finished, Otto laughed rudely and asked, "You live with ducks?"

My name is Otto.
You live with ducks!?!
Whats your name? "Um I have to go"
