You and I have many feelings throughout each 

and every day.

They can range from good to bad depending on 

what happens to us.

If we are not careful, our feelings can 

become very hurtful.

Every feeling that we have can be 

looked at as a color that describes us 

at the moment.

Let's learn how to show our feelings in 

ways that are helpful to ourselves and 

others instead of hurtful!

When I'm sad I feel blue.

Sometimes I will cry.

I might want to be alone or hug my mom 

and dad.

The best thing to do when I'm sad is to 

talk to someone or do my favorite activity 

to help me feel better. 

When I'm happy I feel yellow.

I will smile and laugh.

I might be happy if I have a good day at 

school or have fun playing with friends.

The best thing to do in order to be happy is 

to treat others with kindness so that they 

will treat me with kindness. This means 

behaving at school, at home, and with my 

friends. 

When I'm confused I feel purple.

I feel lost or unsure of myself. 

I might not know what's going on or how to do 

my homework.

The best thing to do when I'm confused is to 

ask someone for help or take a deep breath 

and think.
