Cinderella’s wedding was the “wedding
of the century.” Cinderella has asked
Prince Felix to marry her and he, of
course, had said ‘yes.’
The Fairy
Godmother had been busy all day
helping Jac and Gus, Cinderella’s
mice friends, set up the flowers for
the ceremony. After dinner, it was
time for the Fairy Godmother to go home.

With one swift wave of her wand,
the Fairy Godmother was back at
home. The Fairy Godmother took
off her wig, carefully placed her
earrings and fake eyelashes on her
dresser, wiped off her makeup, and
set her high heels in the closet. The
Fairy Godmother took off her dress,
put on some pajamas, and went to
go check on Audrey.

To the townspeople, Kirk would always be known as
the Fairy Godmother. But to Audrey, Kirk was
always greeted with an excited, “Daddy! You’re
home!”
“Hi pumpkin, I missed you.”
“Did you help a lot of people tonight daddy? Did
you make them smile and make them happy?”
“Always Audrey. That’s what fairy godmother’s are
for.”
Kirk kissed Audrey on the forehead, turned off her
bedroom light, and said ‘good night.’

The next morning, Audrey went to school
and Kirk went to work. Audrey learned to
read and Kirk installed countertops.

Later that evening at the dinner table, Audrey
burst into tears. “Daddy, the kids at school
said that you aren’t really a daddy because
daddies don’t wear make-up and dresses.”
Kirk gave Audrey a hug: “How would you like
to come with me tomorrow night to see why I
am the Fairy Godmother?”
A smile spread across across Audrey’s face.
She would love to.

The next morning, Audrey went to school and
Kirk went to work. Audrey practiced her
adding and subtraction, and Kirk installed
counter tops. Audrey came home from
school and watched Kirk put on his wig, and
his make-up, and beautiful, long eyelashes.
He put on his dress and his high heels. They
hopped into the Fairy Godmother’s carriage
and rode off to one of the most special balls of
the year.
