Wow, it's such a beautiful day!
Today, Maria is going to explore the
Amazon rain forest and meet all the
animals in it. Let's see which animal
she meets first.

It looks like we found a
piranha! They look like
other fish, but they have
very big and pointy teeth.
You don't want to be around them
when they're mad!

Wow Maria! You found a
toucan up in the trees! It's a
good thing its beak is so bright
or you may have missed it!

     Look at those beautiful
     macaws on the rocks!
     They happen to be the biggest
     of the parrot family. They're also
     endangered, so there aren't
     many of them left

Manatees are one of the
biggest species found in
the Amazon River. They
grow up to be very big, too.
However, they are also endangered.
Hopefully, Maria will be able to help them!

One of the most impressive
species in the Amazon
is the frogs. They come in
a million different colors
and some are poisonous.
They may look cute, but don't
touch!

   There are beautiful ad
gross insects throughout
the rain forest. Butterflies
travel around aimlessly and
spiders constantly search for
       prey. It's a tough life
            for bugs!

We certainly learned
a lot about the Amazon rain
forest and the animals
that inhabit it. Hopefully, they
all continue to thrive in their
habitat. Thank you to Maria
for leading us around! :)
