but it does not work.

protect us from Izzy and other bullies
who all make sure everyone hates me.
Our town is small with 25 houses.

Lucifer hates us in Joytown because
we are always happy, and without the
crystal we would be able to see and feel hate and
darkness.
Lucifer can only get inside Joytown when people are
arguing and fighting, which does not happen that often.

One day in Joytown, everyone is inside
except for Damon and I. Damon likes to teach me
different games and today we are practicing
jumping on one foot. No one likes to be out when
I am out. Lucifer is walking into the town and he
walk through the protective barrier. Lucifer has
not been in the town for years.
“Damon, Lucifer is coming. Ring the
warning bell!” I yell.
“Lilly, I figured out that Izzy is fighting with
her mom,” Damon yells back to me.

Damon runs to try and stop
Izzy from fighting her mom, but it
is too late. We all hear the shatter of
the crystal as it breaks into six
pieces. Lucifer grabs the pieces of
the crystal and throws them
everywhere outside of the barrier.

Mom!

“Now, in a matter of time,
everyone will be just like me and
this town will become all evil and
with no joy,” Lucifer says and he
walks away. Everyone in our town
walks out and sees the crystal gone.

“Lilly, it is all your fault. You let Lucifer take the
crystal and put us all in danger,” Izzy exclaims loudly to
the town.
“It is not her fault Izzy. You were fighting with
your mom Izzy,” Damon retorts back.
“Hey can we just calm down and figure out how to find
the crystal fragments?” I beg the people. I just want
everyone to stop blaming me so we can move on and
save the town.
“I have a solution,” Izzy chimes. “I think that since
Lilly messed it up Lilly should go out and find the pieces
alone,” Izzy proceeds.
“Lilly can’t leave town alone. No one has left the
barrier and it is dangerous. Plus we have no idea where
they are,” Damon retorts back to Izzy. He has his arms
crossed and you can tell he is proud of himself.

“How about everyone in the town goes on with our
lives while Damon and Lilly go searching. Izzy can stay
here because we need someone to help us. Plus it is your
fault Lilly,” Savannah implies. Savannah always tries to
fix problems and make Izzy look great.
“You were outside?” Savannah questions
deviously.
"Well yes,” I retort back to her feeling insecure.
“So you could have stopped him but did nothing,”
Savannah says.
“So it is settled it is all Lilly’s fault. Lilly shall leave town
in two hours with her strong and handsome brother,”
Izzy remarks. Everyone agrees and the town's librarian
comes to us.

“I have something you kids will need.” Dodger
suggests. We go to the library and get a book. Then
we head to our house to pack our stuff.

I felt so weak out their. I am the smallest kid in
town. I am only 3 feet tall and I am 13 years old. It
is just not fair and that is why Izzy picks on me.
Plus I don’t have any parents because they died last
year.
As I am packing my stuff the book glows. I
open it and I can see a page have words appear on
it. I get scared immediately.

The first two
pieces you
seek is hidden
where no one
dares to peak.
Look there
and you might
find what you
seek.

What in the world does that mean? How is that
even a clue? But the title says ‘Crystal Clues’.
I tell Damon all about it and we set off to find the
pieces. It is cold and I am really scared. I know this is
just to make me feel bad, but I think I am up for the
adventure.

When we get to Dark Dare mountain we find the
two pieces and Damon jumps and grabs them. He is
smiling but I am not.
“Maybe this won’t be so bad,” Damon cheers out. I
wish I could be as hopeful as him but everyone is
going to blame me forever.
“Look, another clue has appeared,” I shout to
Damon.
