This is George.

He lives with his friend, the man with the yellow hat. George is a very curious monkey. Today George wanted to read about the brain.

George decided to ask his friend the man with the yellow hat, to help him understand the different parts of the brain.

The man with the yellow hat happily read the book of brains to George.

"Your brain is the boss of your body." the man with the yellow hat read aloud. "It controls everything you do, even when you are asleep."

"The main part of your brain is called the Cerebrum. It controls your taste, touch, hearing, and smell."

George thought this was awesome! He never knew that his brain did so much!

" Under the Cerebrum," the man with the yellow hat continued "Is the Cerebellum. It helps us do things that are not easy, like speaking and thinking. It also makes it easier for us to stand up without falling!"

"Did you know that the right side of your brain is called the Right Hemisphere and the left side the Left Hemisphere? And that they control the opposite sides of the body? Well they do. The Right Hemisphere gives us our creativity, while the Left Hemisphere lets us learn about math and science." said the man with the yellow hat.

The Corpus Callosum, or a band of nerve fibers, makes the two hemispheres stay together!

"There are four lobes in our brain, and not our ear lobes! The Occipital lobe is what makes us be able to see. The Temporal lobe is actually what allows us to hear things. The Frontal lobe helps us solve problems. The fourth lobe is the Parietal lobe, that lets us feel pain."
