For Donald as I watch you grow older,
Your head higher and actions bolder,
Keep your eyes as open and your smile as wide,
As you discover the magical world outside,
I wish you a summer filled with glee,
And that you'll spend some of it with me!

Ring Ring Donald, we are on our way,
Summer is here, and we want to play!
So many places to visit, on our tour of Montreal,
We don't have much time, before it is fall,
The sun is out, school is finally done,
Time for some beach, ice cream and fun!

2
This summer we are touring, the place you were born,
Its trees are plentiful and its streets are well worn,
You can speak both english and french as you know,
You can watch snow melt and flowers grow,
The ladies are lovely and the food is great,
Bagels, poutine and smoked meat await!
It's been around a while, since before 1850,
Canada's proud and majestic, second largest city!
3
As we complete our ten visits,
each a surprise,
Stamp your book every time,
to receive your prize!
4

5
On the Mount-Royal is where, our first stop will be,
A hill with three peaks, a lake and lush greenery,
Daddy once spent a day, selling Coke and Mountain Dew,
Grandma used to take him there to read stories too,
Every Sunday for Tam Tams, the warriors come to fight,
The drummers come to beat and the hippies come to 'light',
Dogs come to chase squirrels, and lie in the sun,
Friends come to picnic, and athletes come to run,
6

The first European to arrive, was Jacques Cartier,
He named it Mont-Real the very same day!
Some say it was a volcano, a long time ago,
Can you see in its place, the trees that now grow?
Some trees were cut down, to curtail adult play,
But its Montreal, after all, they'll find another way!
Did you know there's a railway dug down below?
A lake, the Beaver, with ducks and pedalo?
Climb to the top, make it to the Belvedere,
Look at the city and watch the sun disappear!
7
Next stop Atwater Market in little Burgundy,
To visit the florist, butcher and bakery!
Study the building, Art Deco in style,
A true monument to the Cibophile!
Built by a father and his son Paul,
Long and deep, with many a stall,
See the fruits and vegetables, all fresh and new,
Meet the farmers who work to make them for you,
Auntie Amanda loves raspberries, buy her a few,
Grandma likes mushrooms and cherries too,
Grandpa likes anything that's oh so sweet,
Maple pies, croissants, add in a doggie treat,
8

For Daddy you can buy a nice quiche with cheese,
And for Mommy a carton of fresh blueberries!
But for you Donald, what will you have to eat?
Will you have cheese, bread, or even some meat?
No. For you, there will be an extra special celebration,
To the Havre aux Glaces for a special creation!
Ice cream artistry in many a flavour,
A rose of icy delights for you to savour!
9

And on we go, to our next destination,
This one is sure to cause quite the sensation!
To Lachine Canal, by bicycle you go!
Daddy loved this too long long ago,
He and Amanda, Joseph and Robert too,
They'd all go biking, and sometimes canoe!
So fast they'd go, always it was a race,
Nobody wanted to end up in last place!
When they got to the end, they'd jump on a Ferry,
And make a visit to the Queen of Dairy!
10

After a long day of biking, for a most delicious rest,
A vanilla cone dipped in chocolate was always best!
Named after China, where explorers hoped to go,
The Canal spans 15 kilometers for water to flow,
Designed to ship many a wood, iron or steel crate,
The canal took over 100 years to finally operate!
Over time the St Lawrence Seaway made it obsolete,
Today bike paths and boat rentals help it compete!
Congratulations on completing stop number three!
Turn the page to see what's next for your summer spree!
11

The next stop will feel like you need a passport,
As we head on to Montreal's very Old Port!
Horses and cobblestones adorn the way,
Passing ships will give you a spray!
Grandpa will join you on a bicycle for two,
And if you hold on tight, Mango will come too!
12

Next you can check out the pirate ship craze,
Then try to escape from the SOS maze,
Enter the Science Center for the latest exhibit,
Go to the Clock Tower for a really cool visit,
But there's one last trip you must make without fail,
Head to La Commune for a tasty beaver tail!
13

Oh how you'll love stop number five,
Daddy took the day off, as a surprise!
He's taking you out for a day at La Ronde,
Just the two of you, so you can bond!
You can start the day on the flying swings,
Then spin around as the teacup sings,
14

Maybe some games next, you could win a prize,
Aim your gun at the mouth and not at the eyes!
Then jump in a log and go down the slide,
Or get in a bumper car and give someone a ride!
By the end of the day, you'll be very very glad,
That you Donald, have the most amazing Dad!
15

For stop number six, on to Parc Safari we go,
With Mommy and Stephie and Sophie in tow,
You'll visit the animals, maybe hear some roar,
They'll come to the car and knock on your door!
Mom will give you food, you can give them a snack,
Be ready for the saliva they will give you right back!
16

If it gets too hot and you need something cool,
Put on your swimsuit and head for the pool,
Then run to the rides, you can do them all,
Take your sisters' hands, they must not fall!
What an amazing day, Mommy truly is the best,
Give her a big thank you by letting her rest!
17

Next stop on our tour, we enter a magical world,
Botanical gardens where green whimsy is unfurled,
The gardens span over 200 hundred acres,
With far more than a dozen caretakers,
Founded by Houde in 1931,
It grows each year and is never truly done,
