There once was a dog named Marley, who was big and yellow and wild. He liked to play with balls, run and jump, and play tug-o-war.
Marley didn't know he was showing Newton's laws in everything he did!

2
Newton's first law states:
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
A person or object will stay the same, either moving or resting, unless something acts to move them.
3
When Marley is sleeping - he is not moving.....
4
But when someone wakes him up by patting his head (force), he begins to move. Marley just showed how Newton's first law works!

5
Newton's second law states:
Acceleration depends on the forces that act upon an object and the mass of the object.
This means that the force used and the mass of the object in question creates the acceleration.
6
When Marley pushes or throws a ball, it will go far because Marley is large and creates a lot of force. The size of the ball will also determine how the ball accelerates.
7
If Marley pushes a tennis ball, it will go further than when he tries to push a big ball because the tennis ball has less mass.
So, when a big force like Marley moves the tennis ball, it should accelerate more.
8
Marley has a small friend named Nigel. Nigel likes to push the ball too. Because Nigel weighs less he creates less force and the balls he pushes will not go as far.
