This book takes place in the African country of Ghana. The national language in Ghana is English, but the native tongue Twi is spoken just as commonly. Throughout the book, some twi vocabulary and pronunciations are given.

Education is very important to us in Ghana. Our government spends over 25% of its budget on education. We were the first African country to make education mandatory. Everyone must go to school for at least two years and many people continue for longer.
