Jesus' Appearances after the Resurrection

Mary the mother of James, Joanna, Mary Magdalene, and Salome went to see Jesus at the tomb. An angel of the Lord appeared to them. The angel said, "Do not be Afraid!" The angel told them Jesus is not here because he has risen from the dead. The women were no longer afraid. Jesus met them and also told them to not be afraid. He told them to tell his brothers in Galilee about him. The message is to never fear the Lord and spread the good news about Christ.

The Women at the Tomb

Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene was weeping outside of the tomb. Two angels asked her why she was crying. She told them they have taken her Lord. She then saw Jesus but didn't know it was him. When she realized it was him he told her, "Stop holding onto me." Mary then announced to the disciples she has saw the Lord. The message is that we are never alone because Jesus is always looking over us.

Jesus Appears to his disciples

Jesus appears to the disciples and tells them, "Peace be with you." They were scared and startled because they couldn't believe their eyes. Jesus then shows them his hands and feet to prove its really him. The disciples became overjoyed. Jesus then opens their minds so they could understand the Scriptures better. He tells his disciples he will send them what his father promised. The message is that Jesus will always be there to enlighten our minds.

Jesus and Thomas

Thomas and Jesus' disciples were at the house a week later. Jesus came and granted them peace. Jesus then puts Thomas' finger on his side and hands so he can believe and stop doubting. Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus then tells him that he now believes because he has seen. He blesses those who have not seen yet still believed. The message is to never doubt Christ even if you cant see him. He is with us spiritually and can be shown through our relationships with other people such as loving your mother.
