Hi, my name is Ano, and I live in Hawaii with my two parents.











One day while I was playing outside, my parents said, "Son we're moving. We got new jobs."



I was so sad. All my family and friends lived here.









Two weeks after, we left Hawaii and moved to Louisiana.
Everything was different:





the food didn't taste the same, people spoke differently, and...



...the weather was hot and swampy.































I was so scared to go to my new school the next day, but...
...my mom said everything would be okay.






The next day I was introduced to the class along with another new girl.



The teacher said her name was Ella, and she was from Washington.
I was a little nervous going to recess, but I saw Ella sitting all alone on the swing.










I went up and started to talk to her.



"I feel so different in Louisiana than Washington, and I miss my home."
"I feel the same way."
