Once there was a small church in Lynchburg with many people that loved God. The people in the church wanted to tell others about Jesus. They decided to go to an island where very few people dared to go.

The people of the church raised money. They had bake sales, carnivals, and special offerings. Everyone was excited to tell others about Jesus.

Josh was a 1st-grader who wanted to go on the mission trip. He raised his money and was ready to go. He had a hard time deciding what he needed to take with him on his mission trip. He asked the elders of the church, “What is the island like?” 

One of the church elders turned to Josh and said, “The island is called the Mysterious Island. It has many mysterious passages through the jungle. You will see many palm trees, grass, and mountains.” The elder continued, “Where we are going very few people have dared to go.”

As Josh listened to the church elder, he began to feel a little scared. He decided to pray quietly, “Dear Lord, you know I love you, and I want to share your love with others, but I am scared. Please help me to feel safe in your arms.” At that moment, the elder gave Josh a hug and said, you have nothing to be afraid of with God on your side.
