One sunny morning, the friendly decomposer, Willy the Wacky Worm, was doing his daily niche of breaking down the soil when his friend Annie the Amazing Ant came to warn him of a new invasive species that was messing up all of their homes!

“Willy, come quick!” Annie cried and she ran off to her anthill. When Willy got there he could not believe his eyes.
“Why is there sprouty green troll hair coming out of the ground? We must get the trolls out right away!” exclaimed Willy.

“No Willy you wacky worm, they’re weeds. They take all of the nutrients out of the soil which is parasitism. Not all autotrophic organisms are good you know.” As Annie said that Willy began to think of ways to help his friends. And suddenly he came up with a plan.

Willy could not ask any of his carnivore friends for help, and even though ants were omnivores, they could not help because they were so small, so he had to go to his herbivore friends to help this problem. Willy went to his friend Gerard the Goofy Goat.
