Committed to serving the nation, Lesnar had joined the National Guard; but his colorblindness would put a premature end to his service to the country. As a wrestler out of Bismarck State College, Lesnar conquered the National Junior College Athletic Association heavyweight championship in his sophomore year. In 2000, he claimed the prestigious NCAA Division I Heavyweight Wrestling Championship and would become the only athlete in history to become a world champion across three disciplines - professional wrestling, amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts.
