Tom
Once there was a boy named Tom. He was a quiet boy who had no friends.

He never talked to his family and hid in his room. He would go to school and eat in the bathroom.

Nobody knew Tom and he was a sad boy. He liked to go to the park and read books.

On Friday, their class was having picture day. He did not like to show his face and would wear a plastic bag to cover up.

He did not want to go to school and pretended to be sick. His mom forced him to get up.

He went to school all covered up and his teacher said it is time to go to the hall to take pictures. The photographer told him to take off his plastic bag, but he did not want to. He feared people laughing at him.

Tom watched as the other boys took their picture and saw how happy they were to be done and to be able to run around and get messy.

He went in front of the camera, looked around, and took off his plastic bag. Everyone was waiting for him to finish so they can go to lunch. He was nervous, but smiled very happily.

His classmates were clapping for him and told him how handsome he looked. They asked him to sit with them at lunch. He was a new boy and was not embarrassed to show his face.

Everyone knew how Tom looked now and he was proud of being able to make friends and to show his face. He came back to school the next day and was confident.
