Hey there! My name is Cuddles.
Once upon a time, there lived a little kitten named Cuddles. This was a curious little kitten. One day Cuddles was sitting by the fire, enjoying the heat, when he wondered "Where do trees come from?"
Cuddles became so curious that he decided to go for a walk. He asked his dad to come along. Cuddles wanted to be smart like his dad because his dad knew everything in the world.
Join Cuddles on his journey to see how much his dad really knows.

Cuddles let his dad explain something called natural resources. Water, air, and soil are considered natural resources. These resources can be used in different ways. We plant trees, flowers, and grass. These plants use the nutrients from the soil, the air around them, and water to grow big and strong.
Water is one of our most valuable resources. Everything relies on water. We need water to survive, plants need water to survive, and many animals live in the water.

Another natural resource is rock. Rocks serve many purposes. One thing rocks are used for is to build roads. Some rocks used for building roads include sand, cement, and gravel.
Rocks also have other purposes. Coal is used to make electricity. Granite is used to make countertops. Limestone is used to help make glass and paper.
Another natural resource is oil. Oil is what helps us travel. It is used to produce gasoline that we use in cars, and jet fuel that is used in jets. One region that oil can be found is near coast; however, it is found very deep in the ground.
