Chapter 1:Summer Vacation Starts

  It was a beautiful Friday morning, despite the fact that we have to go to school. I don't care, because after today, is the start of summer break! And also to start of my summer vacation with my grandma. Oh how I missed her since I last saw her. She had to go on some mysterious trip somewhere...Well I don't have to worry about that now for this will be my best summer ev...

"Oof!" Uh oh, forgot about him.

"Hey, watch where you are going pipsqueak!", ugh, I hate it when Johnny has the nerve to come mess with me. Too bad I am too happy to do some punchin'.

"Okay, number one, I am not pipsqueak its Faria. Number two, it was an accident Johnny. I was just thinking about how awesome my summer is going to be", I said trying to look brave.

"Oh thanks for reminding me that today is the last day of school Fart-treata, now I'll know to give you your last beating after school", he said it evilly.

A cold shiver went down my spine. Johnny walked away to hurry to his friends. With a deep sigh I walked to class hoping my summer won't be as bad as school.

After class I leaped with joy, but then it hit me, Johnny is coming to pound me to the ground. I started to run like the wind before Johnny came out of the school building. Just when I thought I was safe. I, once again, bumped into my sworn enemy.

"Wow, what luck! I was looking for you pipsqueak when you just happened to bump into me", he said laughing.

I prepared for the worst. But then, just when he was going to punch my face and shatter it to pieces, I held my hands up hoping to block it and some kind of shield came up. Although, Johnny didn't see it, so when he took the shot, BAM! He almost broke his bones hitting my so-called-shield.

"Ack! What in the world was that! Why I outta...", and with that I was gone. I don't know what happened, all I know is that I got out of there ALIVE.

Well, at least I don't have to see him anymore. Its Summer!

Chapter 2: Grandma

I finally was able to get home safe. My dad said he would take me to my grandma, he is hardly home so I am very excited to get to see him.

"Hi mom! Where's dad? He is supposed to take me to grandma's house." I asked happily.

"Oh, hi sweetie. Uh...well...", she had the Dad-isn't-home look.

"Dad's not coming home again is he...", my eyes was starting to flood with tears, but I just wiped them away and tried not to look too sad.

"Faria... You know your father's job requires him to..."

"Leave and be gone for a long time, I know mom...I'm just going to finish pack and you can take me to grandma's house", I said trying to sound brave.

When I finally got to my grandma's house, we already exchanged our hellos and goodbyes. 

"How are you Faria, you look like you've grown since I last saw you", my grandma had the sweetest smile on her face that made me almost forget about the whole dad thing.

"I am doing great grandma, oh that reminds me, how was your trip to...uh...where ever you went to?" 

 When I asked that question, her smile got wiped off her face and she had a stern,scary look I never saw before.

"Never mind that, you should go unpack your stuff and get ready for dinner", she said it with a cold look and a hard voice.

I went to my room without hesitation, confused on what has happened to my old grandma. I unpacked my stuff and saw my grandma's dog Silver, on my bed.

"Hey Silver! Did you miss me?" I said while hugging and squeezing and kissing him. Silver just barked and squirmed his way out of my hands.

"Hm, some welcome that was".

I finished unpacking and went down stairs for dinner. I really hope that my grandma isn't mad at me anymore. I sat down at the table and grandma had a plate ready with green beans, mashed potatoes and a delicious stake. Stake was my favorite meat in the whole world.

"Yum! Thanks grandma!", I chowed down on my food and had ice-cream for dessert.

"Your welcome dear", grandma had her usual happy smile again and that probably meant that we're cool.

Chapter 3: Silver

After dinner, I went to my room to get started with my homework, yes, my teacher gave us homework. Silver came up to me barking as if he was trying to say something.

"Okay, okay! Hold on a minute! I can't understand you!", I tapped on Silver's nose and mini sparkles formed around him.

"There you go boy, now what were you saying?"

"I was saying, that something weird is going on!", he said almost breathless.

I thought for a moment," Does it have something to do with grandma's journey?"

"Yes", he said. That is the answer I needed.

I slowly went down the stairs and stopped at the doorway of the living room. I hope she doesn't get mad at me again, I really want some answers. I took a deep breath and went in.

"Um, grandma..."

"Yes dear?", she said it so sweetly that I just can't possibly ruin such a moment.

"Uh...", Oh no! I couldn't speak, but luckily she said something.

"Ha! You must've smelled my apple pie. Would you like a slice Faria?", my grandma's apple pie was the best, so I just couldn't refuse.

"Oh, yes please!"

I ate my pie and got ready for bed. I'm sure I can ask her tomorrow. Silver hopped on my bed and we fell asleep together.

Chapter 4: The Journey

The next morning I got up feeling a bit strange. Silver was sleeping peacefully on my bed. I did not want to wake him up. I went into the bathroom to start brushing my teeth and I thought I saw myself with wolf ears on my head. Am I imagining this?! I rubbed my eyes and shook my head. I looked into the mirror and the weird ears were gone. It's still early in the morning, so of course I'll see things...like wolf ears...

I got dressed and went down stairs for breakfast. I could just smell it from the stairs.Buttermilk pancakes, soft biscuits, crunchy bacon, cheesy scrambled egg, with some nice orange juice. This was heaven.



"Oh my gosh grandma! This is amazing! Thank you so much!", I said. I was starving from the smell of food.

"Your very welcome dear. Now eat up! We've got a long day ahead of us." I wonder what she meant by that? Anyways, I ate my breakfast and helped with the dishes.

"Okay Faria, I am going to take you somewhere special", she had on her adventure clothes with her Indiana Jones hat, jungle outfit, with boots, and a backpack full of survival stuff. She gave me the same things to put on.

"Where too? Is it to that same place where you went to?" Her happy expression once again turned into that mysterious cold one. Instead of answering, she mumbled to herself and walked to the back yard. I followed her and there was a helicopter pad with a beautiful blue helicopter. It had black blades with streaks of white. I was lost in awe, for that was never there before.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Hop in!", grandma's happy face was back and I went inside the helicopter. Silver was already in the back seat.

"Silver is coming too?", I asked.

"Yes! We will need him on our journey, isn't that right boy?"

"Woof!" Silver answered in reply.

"Then lets go!" Grandma started the helicopter engines and we were in the sky.

This is definatly going to be the best Summer ever.

Chapter 5: The Crash

We flew peacefully over hills and valleys, oceans and deserts, until we were flying over a strange island. There were lots of colorful trees and bushes, and different kinds of weird animals. Although, they were pretty. Even the river was a rainbow.

"Wow grandma! This place is amazing!", once again I was lost in awe. "Where are we?"

"We are in a secret island that can't be seen by anybody else but those with a little spark in them", she winked at me and I giggled a little. Although I didn't know what she meant by 'little spark' I still know that that means that we are special some how.

We kept flying until we came over a huge waterfall with many colors. We started to land, but instead of landing softly, there was a loud boom and we was spinning and going down fast.

"Grandma! We're going to crash!" I was the only one panicking. Silver was calm and Grandma was calm. I covered my eyes where I was so afraid. Then everything went quiet. I opened my eyes and we was on the ground and the helicopter was gone!

"Grandma, where is the helicopter?" I was still a little shaken that we could be in a million pieces right now.

"Oh, don't worry about that dear. Lets just keep moving, we've got a long journey ahead of us", she looked a little worried and kept looking up.

"Um...Okay grandma...Why do you keep looking up?" I asked as we were moving.

"Uh...",she was about to answer when there was another boom and a tree started to fall.

"Run to the cave over there! Quick!", she said.

We ran into a cave and we were as silent as a mouse. Even Silver didn't say anything.

"Okay, the cost is clear. We have to keep moving", I wanted to ask grandma where are we going but I just kept my mouth shut and thought about what that boom was.

 I just had so many questions in my head. Whats going on? Why are we here? Whats chasing us? What caused that boom? Where is the helicopter? I don't know whats going on here, but I just hope that I don't have to waste my Summer doing something dangerous.

Chapter 6: Magic

We kept walking being cautious of what ever is out there. I saw many amazing sights. There was some very colorful birds that, since I got my camera, took a lot of pictures of. Then we ate some weird looking berries that were delicious.When we were to pick on, a berry would grow back which was very strange. I didn't really care, that just meant more to carry on the trip.

Without thinking I asked," Where are we going?"

 Surprisingly, instead of getting upset she smiled and said,"To my place where I was staying while I was on that long journey".

"So, you came here?", she nodded. Well, that's one question done.

"So...Why did you come here?", there was a long pause as we kept walking.

 Then, Silver started barking. We turned around and saw some small lights going around him.

"Oh, Silver! Don't worry! They are just forest fairies, they won't hurt you", grandma said.

"Forest fairies? I thought fairies were only characters in a fairy tale..."

"Not on this island", Grandma said with a smile.

We kept walking until we came to a rainbow river.

"How are we going to get across?" I asked.

"We will cross the bridge".

"But there is none...", just when I said it, a bridge came out of nowhere.

"You were saying Faria?" grandma said with a laugh.

"But...How...Where...Wha?" I couldn't believe my eyes. Something is very strange about this island. Rainbow forests and rivers, magical fairies, and a bridge that pops out of nowhere!

"Is this a dream?" I think I said that out loud.

"Nope, this is real life Faria, real life".

We walked across the bridge and started to head upwards toward grandma's house on this strange island.

We kept traveling through the rainbow forest until we came to the house grandma was talking about. It was camouflaged like the rest of the forest, rainbow colors. It was like a mini hut only more like a tree house. It was surrounded by many colorful trees and bushes.

"Welcome to my jungle home!" grandma said with a smile.

"Wow! This place is amazing! Although...", I said.

"You want to know why we came here? And I know you have many questions. I'll get to the point of answering them soon enough. First I need to get you settled in. Silver! Come here boy!", Grandma called Silver.

Silver was outside messing with another forest fairy. He came immediately when grandma called.

"Okay Silver, while we are here I need to know what you are saying", at first I didn't know what she was talking about, but then, when she touched Silver's nose like I did, I was shocked.The sparkles formed around Silver and now he was able to talk.

"Yeah, I knew you would be shocked Faria, just a glimpse on your face would say,'OMG' all over it", Silver said laughing.

Grandma was giggling a little too.

"I bet you didn't know that I can make Silver talk too didn't you?"

"Wait, you mean you knew that I can make Silver talk?" I asked.

"Yes, because I already knew that you was special...", grandma stopped talking and Silver had quite laughing.

Silver's ears started to twitch and grandma was looking up again.

"What is it?" I asked. Then without warning, there was another BOOM!

"Into the house NOW!", grandma yelled. You didn't have to asked me twice. I was already inside with Silver, but I didn't see grandma.

I got up and looked out the window, I saw grandma being picked up by some kind of black and white creature. It picked her up and flew away. I ran outside with Silver following me.

"No Faria, we have to stay inside! Those things are dangerous!", Silver said holding me back.

"But it took my grandma! I can't stay here, I have to go find her!" I said trying to pull free.

"But you're not ready to face those things yet. You have to train your power first...oops..." Silver stopped tugging me and covered his mouth.

"Yeah OOPS! Tell me, what is going on, what do you mean, and WHY IN HEAVEN'S NAME ARE WE HERE?!" I was really upset now. My grandma got kidnapped, and Silver is keeping a secret from me, and we are in the middle of no where.

"Okay! Calm down, I'll...I'll tell you everything, well almost everything, but just enough to answer your questions", Silver replied.

"Good, now start with this question, why are we here?"

Chapter 8: Secrets revealed

"Okay, start with this question, why are we here?"

Silver took a deep breath and then when he let it out, it was not a bit of air anymore. It turned into magical dust. The cloud of dust disappeared leaving some kind of book on the ground.

"What's that?", I asked, burning with curiosity.

"Its the book that holds all the answers you need", Silver said.

"So...its a history book?"

"Yeah...I guess you can say that...", Silver opened the pages in the book to a certain page.

"Wow...That's a lot of reading... We should just take it with us and go find grandma". If there's anything I hate the most, it's reading.

"No! This is important Faria! You have to know about most of what's going on if you want to help your grandma, so I'll read it", Silver cleared his throat and started to read:

ong time ago, there was two twin sisters who ruled the rainbow lands. The first sister, Coralina, was always the best ruler for her people. She was kind, helpful, caring, and when needed serious, stern, and always takes action.

The second sister, Gregory, wasn't as good as her sister. She was sometimes mean, troublesome, and never cared about anyone. The only reason why she still ruled was because her sister always stood up for her when the people wanted to protest against her.

One day, Gregory got pricked by the dangerous plant of no colors. She was sick for days and when she finally recovered, she had no color. She ended up consumed by darkens and threatened to kill Coralina. A battle broke out between the sisters and Coralina lost the battle and her life.

Gregory ruled the land and made a potion to take all colors and powers from everyone. Prophecy states that a young girl who will inherit Carolina's powers and colors will not only defeat Gregory, but will raise Coralina from the dead so that she may rule and bring back all colors that was stolen.

"And there you have it. You must be the young girl that the prophecy spoke of. If so, then we need to go to Denner to train you", Silver explained.

"Denner, who's Denner?"

"The troll who can train anybody...Even me, and you need training to save your grandma, defeat Gregory, and put Coralina back on her throne".

"Whelp, some summer this turned out to be", I said.

We started our walk, using one of grandmas maps, to Denner. Hopefully, Silver knows what he is talking about and this Denner person isn't like on of those mean trolls you'd here in a fairy tale.

Chapter 9: The Demon

We kept walking not knowing what lies ahead of us. We traveled across rivers through trees and across bridges. Everything seemed to be alright until I had this strange feeling that something bad is about to happen. . While we walked, we passed by a weird bubble that looked like it was opened up, but it wasn't popped.

"Whats that?" I asked Silver.

"That is a confinement bubble. If a creature does something against the queen's will, they will get trapped in a confinement bubble for a long time until all their magic is gone. I haven't seen one of these since the age of the Queen Coralina. Someone must've just gotten out of the confinement bubble", Silver explained.
