~From members of the NJHS we bring you a story for Bullying Prevention Month! Let's make a difference and stand up against bullying!

This is Jack and his big sister Rylie. Jack loves to play with his lego, especially with his sister. He also enjoys bike riding, beating his drums, and everything Spider-Man (Although, he can't have everything Spider-Man).
Rylie also loves to play with her lego, and when she plays with Jack, they always think of the most silliest things to build. She also loves bike riding, playing piano, singing(secretly), school(yes, school) and everything Frozen (But can't have everything Frozen).

From Toledo, Ohio, they were moving to their new house in Orlando,Florida. It was a huge change for them. On the way, they saw huge palm trees and gorgeous beaches. The houses there were also unlike any they have ever seen.
"Hey, Mom!"Rylie asked from the back of their gray Imparla."Are we going to move into a house like those?"
"Uh... Not exactly, but the house we are moving to is really nice", she answered.
"I sure hope it's nice", Jack said sarcastically. "Our last house was too run down to be a house..."
"Yeah... and we couldn't fix most of the damages so now we have to move here!" Their Mom said.
Soon, the pretty neighborhood changed into run-down and old type of place. It wasn't as bad as their old house, but it still didn't seem appealing. They pulled up in front of one of the houses. It was dark and empty. There were webs in every place you could imagine, and the grass was long and overgrown. Jack and Rylie stared at the old house with disappointment.
"Uh, Mom?" Jack said. "Are you sure this is our house?"
"Of course it is! It just needs some fixing up." She answered as she got out the car and opened the trunk.
"Aw man... I thought it would look much better than this,"Rylie said coming out the car.
"Well, this is what we got, now help me bring the stuff in the house, and the moving truck will be here soon".
Jack and Rylie helped their mom carry the cleaning stuff, food, and appliances into the house. By the time they were done, it was almost dinner time.
"The moving truck should be here soon... Until then, we'll have to order pizza!" Their Mom said. "You guys go outside and explore while I deal with some things in here."
"Okay, Mom!" Rylie and Jack bounded outside to check out all there is around the house.
As soon as they stepped on the overgrown front lawn, a kid with brown hair in a camo-shirt walked by. He saw them, stopped, and stared.
Then he asked, "Hey! Do you guys live here?"
"Yes, why?" Rylie answered.

"Wait a minute! I have another question, Are you guys going to Clarken Middle School?" He asked.
"Um yeah... It's the nearest school from here", Rylie answered.
"Yeah... We start tomorrow," Jack added.
"Haha! You guys will be the laughing stock of the year! This is the worst neighborhood and you guys were unlucky enough to have to live here!" He mockingly said.
"What?" Rylie asked irritated.
"You heard what I said. You guys are pieces of trash living in a dump, and I'm gonna tell everybody!" The boy walked away with a mean smirk on his face.
Rylie and Jack realized that they were going to have a hard time on their first day.

Jack and Rylie went back inside with troubled faces.
"What are we going to do? We have to go to school tomorrow and that...bully is going to be there!" Rylie said.
"Should we tell Mom?" Jack asked.
"Um... I'm sure it won't be too bad... besides, Mom has better things to worry about", Rylie answered.
"Kids! Pizza's here!"Their Mom yelled.
Jack and Rylie came into the kitchen and sat down to eat.
"You guys seem strangely quiet... is something wrong?" Their Mom asked.
"Uh... No mom, we were just thinking about tomorrow," Jack quickly said.
"Oh yes! Tomorrow you guys start school!"

Early the next day~
"Come on Rylie! We're going to be late!" Jack called from the door.
"Coming! Just let me find my hat!" She yelled back.
"Why in the world do you need a hat?" Jack asked.
"The same reason why you need sun glasses when you are supposed to be wearing you're regular glasses," She answered coming out the door.
"Ugh, what ever... Let's hurry up and get to the bus."
Jack and Rylie both hopped on the bus to ride to school. Rylie looked around at the other kids in their seats. They were whispering and quietly laughing as they passed by.
"Do you think that boy said something about us yesterday?" Rylie whispered to Jack.

"Probably... Let's just try not to be too noticeable..." Jack whispered back.
The whole ride, they mostly focused on ignoring the whispering. Soon, a huge brick building came into view.
"Welcome to Clarken Middle School,"Rylie sarcastically said.
Students were all over the campus. Some were rushing to get to class, while others were talking with a group of friends. Within the crowd of students Jack noticed someone familiar.
"Hey, Rylie! Look! Isn't that the same kid who was making fun of us yesterday?" He pointed.
Rylie looked where Jack was pointing, "Yeah... Looks like he has a friend with him..."

"Come on, lets hurry up and get to class before he..."Rylie gasped.
"What?" Jack asked in panic, then noticed that the boys was coming towards them. Rylie started to walk away with Jack behind her, but they weren't fast enough. A huge boy in a blue shirt blocked them off.
"Where do you think you're going?" He said as he towered over Jack and Rylie. Soon enough, the other bullies caught up to them.
"Nice work, Carl." The boy who teased Jack and Rylie the other day walked up to them.
"Welcome to Clarken Middle School! Time to Dish out some introductions." He motioned for Carl to take their backpacks.

"Hey! Those are our backpacks!" Rylie exclaimed.
"Oh, don't worry you'll get them back... from the garbage! Hahaha!" Carl teased.
"Anyways, my name is Gobi and of course, you've already met Carl. This guy over here is Billy, billy bob, now what are your names?" Gobi asked.
Rylie stared and thought for a moment, then she looked at Jack. They both had the same idea.
"MYOB!," They both said in unison.
"What?" Gobi said irritated.
"MYOB, are you deaf?" Jack spurted.
"Okay... You wanna be difficult? We can be difficult too. Come on boys!" The group of bullies injured both of them and threw away their backpacks.

Even though they were slightly injured, they still felt hurt. Jack and Rylie staggered to their class room. Rylie had to repeat a grade so she was in the same class with Jack. As soon as the entered the classroom, the students started whispering and snickering at them. The teacher sitting at her desk looked at Jack and Rylie with a smile.
"Hello, you two must be the new students in my class," She kindly said. "My name is Mrs.Vibe and I will be your homeroom teacher."
Mrs.Vibe asked Jack and Rylie to say their names in front of the class.
"Um... Hi... M...My name is Jack and this is my sister Rylie..."Jack meekly said then rushed to a seat with Rylie after him.

Hello Class, my name is Mrs. Vibe
Welcome to your Homeroom Orientation, we are going to have a great year!

Some of the students started to laugh at what ever gossip was going around. Rylie thought that Gobi told them about where they lived. Jack thought the same thing too, and they both sunk down in their seats hoping to survive the day.
When it was lunch time, Jack and Rylie tried to avoid Gobi and his gang as much as possible. They made sure to be last in line and chose a table that was farthest from the clutter of students.
"Do you think he'll notice us from back here?" Jack asked.
"No, I don't think so... But I really don't like having to eat by the garbage..."Rylie answered. Jack nodded in agreement, as they kept a lookout for Gobi.

Suddenly, Jack spotted Gobi coming to their table. Following behind him were Carl and Billy.
"Uh oh... Here comes trouble..."Rylie said also spotting them.
"So, Jack, yes I know your name, why are you and your dopey sister by the garbage?" Gobi asked.
Before Jack could answer, Gobi interrupted him.
"BECAUSE YOU BOTH ARE TRASH! Hahahaha!" Gobi, Billy, and Carl grabbed Rylie and Jack and threw them into the garbage cans. Then, they took their lunches.
"Ugh! Why won't they leave us alone!?"Rylie said in frustration as she struggled to get out of the garbage can.
"I don't know..." Jack said defeated.

After school, Jack and Rylie trudged along the sidewalk to their house. When they got there, their house didn't look like how it was before. The windows were cleaned, the grass was cut, and there was a newly planted garden in the front.
"Wow, looks like Mom was busy!" Rylie said.
Jack and Rylie walked towards the door and went inside the house. The moving truck came with their furniture while they were in school, so the house was fully furnished.
"Mom we're home!" Jack yelled.
"I'm in the kitchen! And you came in just in time, dinner's ready,"Their Mom answered from the kitchen.

When Jack and Rylie got into the kitchen, there were hot bowls of soup on the table for dinner. They all sat down, and silently ate their food.
"So... How was you're first day of school?" Their mom asked trying to break the ice.
"Um... it was fine..." Rylie said without looking up from her bowl.
"Okay... What about you Jack? Were the teachers nice? And the other students?" When she mentioned "other students" Jack flinched and hesitated before answering.
"Uh... Y...Yeah... Um... May I please be excused?" He studded. Rylie also asked to be excused.
"Sure, but is something wrong?" Their mom asked.
"Uh...No! Nothing's wrong... Goodnight!"

Jack and Rylie hurried out of the kitchen before their mom could say anything else. They walked up the stairs into the hallway.
"What are we going to do? We can't have Mom worrying about us about something like this!" Rylie nervously said.
"What if we call Dad? All we got to do is ask him about it without telling him,"Jack suggested.
"That's a great idea!" They both went to the phone in the hallway and called their dad.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Dad!" Jack and Rylie said in Unison. "How's Boot Camp?"
"Eh... It's not Disney World that's for sure," He joked. "Anyways, what do you guys need?"

"We have a question..." Jack answered.
"Yeah?"
"So... If you went to school and got bullied by a bunch of kids by being thrown in a garbage can, have your backpack taken away, gotten beat up, teased, and have your lunch taken away, and you can't tell your parents, what would you do?" Rylie asked.
"Well, I would kindly ask them to stop, and if they don't listen, I would run away and go tell a teacher. That way, once they've stop, I can tell my parents." He explained.
"Why can't we just fight back?" Jack asked.
"Because that would make the situation worse, and then you would be just as wrong. Never fight back," He said."Well, that's all the time I have, Goodnight guys!"

"Goodnight, Dad!" They answered.
Rylie hung up the phone and plugged it back up to charge.
"I can't believe that actually worked!" Rylie said.
"Yeah! Now we know exactly what to do for tomorrow." Jack and Rylie did a quick high-five then went into their rooms to go to bed.
Tomorrow, Gobi will be in for a huge surprise.
