Firstly, I was given a small piece of black paper. I was instructed to experiment with a box of pastels. At first, I did not realize how many different ways a pastel can be used. I then realized that as well as drawing lines, pastels can be used to make many different shapes, for merging colours, and for drawing over other colours.

I was then given a larger piece of black paper.

Lucy then instructed us to draw a long continuous scribble that filled the page.

I was then told to find a real or imaginary animal within the scribble. At first, I panicked as I could not see any animal within the scribble. After twenty minutes of deep observation I saw a fish shape. This made me realize that art can really be found in anything.
